Looks like the next phase of the MRM has begun. It's about time.

Godspeed Australia.

If this is successful I think the next step should be to plan an INTERNATIONAL event where men and women around the world come together in different cities and protest for men's rights. I think we've reached the point where we can achieve impressive numbers given enough publicity and networking. The most important thing -- and it's unfortunate it has to be this way -- is that we have at least as many women in attendance as men. It's also important not to turn it into a partisan political issue and stay focussed on human rights.

Edit: apparently they are making a point of making it non-partisan. Awesome.

Edit 2: looks like they're already getting speakers lined up, including a Muslim woman. Heh. Bettina Arendt and that Australian chap who was fired for trying to talk about male victims of domestic violence would also make good additions. I'm completely ignorant about Australian geography though and have no idea if those two live anywhere near Melbourne.

Edit 3: We should upvote the shit out of OP and try to get this to R/all. This could be a real milestone.

184,000 subscribers... arguably one of the most important thing in Men’s Rights to be happening in the world right now and it’s got 95 upvotes.

That's why i'm really curious about who is subscribing to this sub. It's really weird and confusing, it's either trolls or feminist shills who don't care about men's rights and just subscribed to this sub so that they can keep track with the posts here in order to come occasionally to troll, or they are guys who are incels, MGTOW or redpill types who either hate women or they are just misogynistic because they think that all women are manipulative liar entitled bitches. Those guys will upvote posts which talks about false rape accusations or in which a woman is being manipulative or evil, because it pushes their narrative of how all women are evil snakes. Of course those posts still need attention and we should still talk about those problems, but i'm just saying why those guys will upvote thoses posts to reach thousands upvotes, while these types of activism posts will only have hundreds. Of course i'm just speculating, but I seriously believe that this is the case, why we have thousands and thousands of subscribers yet posts like these never reach r/all. It's just saddening all along.

You may be over-dramatizing the situation. Low-effort memes that appeal to the reptile brain get more upvotes, and as soon it hits R/all other reptile brains join in the fun.

On the other hand I've noticed what you're talking about: really shitty posts getting highly upvoted, to serve as a strawman for the feminists on R/all.

Black propaganda is a thing, and feminist have billions of dollars to play around with. Wouldn't surprise me if there were occasional shenanigans.

On the other hand I've noticed what you're talking about:really shitty posts getting highly upvoted, to serve as a strawman for the feminists on R/all.

You see, you said it yourself. It's not just me who noticed that and i'm sure we're not the only one.

Here's the thing, when the topic of MRM comes up in other subs, what are the critics about the movement that you see people (who usually are hypocrite feminists or undercover misandrists) there are saying? They usually say that all what we care about is attacking feminism and painting women in a bad light because we are misogynists, and that we don't care about actual activism.

But even if they are hypocrite since they are ignoring the enormous sexist shit that feminism has done to men (and that's a reason why we still should always be attacking them since nobody is standing against their way), they also unfortunately have some truth to what they are saying.

Just like we have feminists trolls who are certainly upvoting everything that may serve their agenda and downvoting everything that may be considered as activism that can help men's rights, we also have a certain number of misogynists (who usually lurk in MGTOW, incels or the red pill), and those only care and upvote the posts that justify their misogynists view on women and only about the subjects that interest them ( which are usually about false rape accusations, or about a sadist golddigger who takes hundreds of thousands of dollars from their ex from child support or alimony) and while those subjects are still very important, there are many other posts which are equally important yet they rarely get the attention they need especially if they are not about some feminists.

And this is why, I think that even though we have a LOT of subscribers (nearly 185 thousands subscribers), you still find posts about activism like these rarely get to r/all( they even rarely get more than 500 upvotes). Because even though there are still some people here who cares about men's rights without any ulterior motive, they are still few between the feminists shills who upvote the posts that serves their agenda about how MRM are all a bunch of misogynists incels, and the actual misogynists who only upvote the posts that justify their opinions about how women are manipulative evil liars. This kinda need some sort of purge honestly.

Yeah, it's really shitty.

Paradoxical but when you sticky something people are less likely to read it. The bold green fades into the background like white noise.

On the other hand, if the mods keep this stickied perhaps we can make progress over the next week or two. The March isn't until late August.

The guy who was fired lives in Western Australia which is a continent away (>4 hours flying time). Bettina Arndt lives in New South Wales (I think) which is about 1.5 hours flying time from Melbourne (which is in Victoria in the South East of Australia)

I plan to go and my partner will support me to show solidarity. I will take some photos.

I expect the police to try to close the event down on "security grounds" (translation: we won't stop ANTIFA and they will cause a riot so you need to pay for security or cancel the event. Its your choice")

I hope not, but as ever, if you do go, always be recording...

including a Muslim woman

Including Muslims is important, I think. They've got a fair bit further to go when it comes to women's empowerment, but they're also even further away from male equality than we are with how stiff their gender roles are. Getting Muslims on board is important, since maybe we can do it right this time and get men and women progressing instead of leaving one behind in liberation.

Hello noriann i wanted to ask what the MRM will do with the laws i mean ever since women got the vote they kept voting for poticians who give women more privileges and since women are most of the voters politicians catered to their demads in order to get voted in office and eventually women got the right to work and get in school and coz of hypergamy i hope you know what hypergamy is and so coz of hypergamy women stopped getting married as much coz they see themselves as superior to most men even tho they are not and this led to a bad birth rate and in other words all waves of femin8ism must be reversed i mean bring back the patriarchy if you want a healthy society

[–]goodmod[S] 8 points9 points10 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Some people, like myself, wish they could participate.

Why not just turn up at a central, public place in your own city, and represent there?

[–]noriann 4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I think that's premature. You'd just end up with a few diehards. If the Melbourne event is successful though I think an international grass roots protest -- planned well in advance -- could work.

[–]goodmod[S] 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Turn up, but don't actually protest until you see a bunch of other people looking around as if they're waiting for something to happen.

If a thousand people happen to appear at the designated time, then hold the rally. Otherwise, just go home. You're not a diehard until you actually do something.

[–]Tedesche 6 points7 points8 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Wish I could be there. Hope it goes well!

[–]Rockbottom503 7 points8 points9 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Wow! I never thought I’d see the day; I genuinely hope this is a success and that similar marches happen across the world.

[–]NecroHexr 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Let's hope this sparks off more than just hate and disdain from on-lookers.

[–]SJW_Skeptic 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Any students should contact the Australian Union of Students and protest the counter rally. This is typical of the misandrist students organization.

[–]Complex_Opportunity 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Guys, I made a shirt supporting this great cause and I would love to make more for you :)

I'm only a street away from the protest location, and I wish I could join but I'm really unnerved by the counter protest. I understand solidarity in numbers, but really can't face the stress of facing feminazis.
