Men 25 to 54 are deciding to not participate in the US Workforce. The article sites a reason for this as follows. "Non-college-educated men have left the labor force in greater numbers as the shortfall in their wages compared with those of college-educated men has increased, the study says. From 1980 to 2019, non-college-educated men’s median weekly earnings fell 17% after adjusting for inflation, while pay for their college-educated counterparts increased by 20%.... Lower self-esteem associated with a lower social status has caused some men to simply drop out."

Due to the large number of college degrees bestowed upon women the above affect is magnified. Men doing dirty and dangerous jobs see an increasing pay gap between themselves and college educated counterparts. What would therefore provide incentive for men to do the dangerous, dirty and sometimes unpleasant jobs in society? What does this mean for society and is this a world wide phenomenon?
