Why would you enter a tripartite contract where the other signatory can screw you anytime they want for any reason whatsoever with the eager and fiery help of the third one? To have your entire live (and savings) utterly destroyed from one day to another seems so enviable? Naaah. Hard pass.

In general women date up financially, they desire to partner up with men who earn more than themselves. If women weren't entitled to 50% of his assets then they wouldn't be so interested in marriage and also subsequently in divorce. Marriage is a retirement plan for women, but divorce is a life destroyer for men. If the marriage does come down to divorce, chances are it's the girl who initiated it and she is entitled to payment either lumpsum or monthly or both. The man will not receive any money upon divorce, instead will have his money, assets and resources confiscated and will have to pay to his ex-wife monthly payments. It is more unfair to the man to strip him of half his assets and slap him with a monthly alimony bill to his ex-wife than it is for a woman to leave the marriage empty-handed. But in this gynocentric world women's unfair and unreasonable demands are met, completely destroying the lives of men.

Got married close to 20y ago. Back than in my country it was not acceptable by older members of family if we lived together without being married. I wouldn't say it wasn't not socially acceptable, but rather uncommon. I just followed the trend not really caring about it.

Today there's no way i'd marry again. Except tax optimisation i see completely no benefit from making your relationship legal.

I've watched it from beginning to end and I completely agree with all of his points.

When it comes to men's standards, they're usually fairly simple and straightfoward. Meanwhile, women compromise on their outrageous demands and then wonder where all of the "good" men went.

In today's world, why any man would get married is beyond reason. Women are NOT the respectful, helping, caring partners they once were back when marriage was a partnership for life. No, today they are selfish, entitled, spoiled and hypergamous. Once men cheated more than women, but now it's the other way around.

Any man who believes his "princess" is the exception to the rule is a fool and in for a rough ride. The courts, police and child protective services will all be arranged against him, so that the only thing he is good for is paying through the nose. His kids will be alienated from him in most cases...and even if he manages to win some time with them it will cripple him financially for years, if not for life.

The only way to win is NOT TO PLAY!!!

Frankly, the idea of marriage is awful for males or females when you really think about it, but society does definitely make it worse for males than females.

From an "anyone" perspective (male or female), marriage binds you into a relationship that can last 60-80 years. Seriously? Why would anyone want to be in the same relationship for that long. Society romanticizes romantic/sexual longevity, but that duration is insane! I don't know many people who have held their friends that long so why would you be expected to keep the same romantic/sexual partner for that long. Add to that the fact that many cultures encourage marriage before the age of 25, meaning that people are young and naive when they choose their partner for the next 60+ years. It's insane really.

The part that is exceptionally unfair is what everyone else has mentioned about how courts deal with divorce, based on gender. Women hugely benefit from marriage but the beneficits are really superficial and not really "true happiness " kind of benefits. They get someone to fix stuff for them, pay for stuff for them, the "power " they get from court settlements, etc, etc) but they don't really get happiness. It's all superficial. I think many women (I'm one of them) would rather be authentically happy and would rather be in a relationship that they choose to be in, with someone who actually wants to be in the relationship with them. Society has brainwashed women to think that the goal in life is to have someone do all this stuff for you, but learning how to fix things, pay for things, deal with things yourself is actually mich more satisfying and a better sense of accomplishment than relying on a man to do it for you.

I 100% agree with marriage sucking for men, but in my mind the concept of marriage itself is awful for men and women.

The messed up divorce laws have unintentionally encouraged murder in the past.

If divorce was more reasonable, we wouldn't have as many spouses murdered.
