We had one recently.

All the girls I know got slightly ratted and called it a dick party and tried very hard to demean it. All we did was go out for a beer. Hell, we didn't even talk about them.

Maybe that's why they were a little pissed off.

There are lots of fraternal organizations that have guys only social events, nothing new there. One group I belong to does a yearly steak fry. Steaks, beer, good times. No ladies. Some shenanigans are had, and there is nothing wrong with that.

As a matter of fact, I prefer men-only social events. Without women around, men are less competitive and get along with each other much better.

We do an off campus dads night for the kids school. We meet at the pub and have a few beers and talk about issues we all have and how we can handle them. No negative input from any groups here as of yet. And its great for the boys to get together.

I'm completely for, guys night. I enjoy it, and not because I'm gay. It gives me a chance to relax with my guy friends without all there girlfriend's. I also go to girls night and enjoy that to, I think there is nothing wrong with either one.

I went to a "Ladies' night" at a bar once for a female friend's birthday. The guys were in one section waiting for the ladies to finish getting all worked up over the male strippers in the other section.

No, there havent been any attempts to do that. Not in /r/chicago that is.

I'm all for 'ladies only' or 'guys only' nights. It doesnt really harm anyone to be honest, and as long as its on private property I have no problem with it.

The issue in /r/chicago was about guys saying its unfair, and that theyll be there anyway and shit like that, which was creepy and pathetic.

I don't think fighting segregation with segregation is going to do any good. We should be fighting to stop discrimination, not add more to balance it out.
