Talk about insane, propagandized ideologues.

Did "sexist, racist, classist and ethnic stereotypes" force an accuser to LIE? The PROSECUTORS dropped their own case because they knew it was worthless.

"Ms. Diallo's courage gives us inspiration to hold our heads high and keep striving"...to spread LIES. Fuck these ideologues. Fuck them for lying and patting themselves on the back about it.

This dismissal should give inspiration to everyone who cares about proof and justice.

This was a typical case of "he said - she said." Then, "she said", and "she said something different" and then "she said something else" and then "she said it was a lie." Of course she's to be commended for her courage. Most of us don't have the guts to perjure ourselves over and over and over.

I'm just gonna throw something out there:

1) because of the guy's fame, the case was destined to be all over the global press.

2) the moment the world started watching it, the case had to be iron-clad so the prosecution could avoid unduly intense criticism to go with the unduly intense scrutiny.

3) the moment prosecutors discovered the complainant was a habitual liar-for-personal-gain (about criminal activity, money and rape, no less), they had serious credibility issues--in a case where the physical evidence was not enough to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that a crime had even occurred, and where a conviction would rest entirely on the credibility of the complainant as the only eyewitness for the prosecution, and the only prosecution witness capable of testifying as to actus reus and mens rea.

4) in the only possible face-saving move they could make, prosecutors hoist themselves by their own petard and released the information on the complainant's questionable credibility before the defence could cause them even more embarrassment by releasing it themselves.

5) no prosecutor in his right mind would continue with a rape case that would have to be brought with a compromised complaining witness whose credibility was shattered, under the kind of media and political scrutiny focussed on the case due to the notoriety of the defendant. It would be an egregious waste of resources, time, energy, and would be doomed to a very very public failure. Any lingering doubts as to whether he should abandon the case would have been dispelled the moment the complainant launched a civil suit seeking a monetary settlement.

So I would have to say that unless NOW can figure a way to have gone back in time to before Ms. Diallo left Guinea, and have her relive her life without the lying about rape for personal gain, and lying for financial profit, the only possible way the case could have gone forward is if the media had not been focussed on the case to the point where no prosecutor would touch it with a ten foot pole.

In other words, if she was actually raped, then anonymity for the defendant would have been Ms. Diallo's only shot at justice.
