I used online dating when it was fairly new and still viewed by many with skepticism. It actually worked fairly well then because those who were online were fairly serious and platforms like TikTok hadn’t gone to women’s heads. Also, there weren’t as many fake and zombie accounts as now.

Of course as the women have gotten older, there’s a lot more baggage as well. I have no desire to ever do any online dating again.

It's easy to have a romanticized view of history. But I think many of the harmful aspects of dating culture persisted back then as well. For example - the concept that men are providers which has evolved to cause the problems with alimony and child support today.

But you do have a point. There are multi-million dollar industries that are designed to exploit male loneliness. It's a good idea not to contribute to them.

The main reason why online dating rips off men is the huge amount of option women are getting on there. All they are doing are left swiping like 85%-90% of men while they are right swiping the top 10% who will not offer them commitment or a date but will definetly offer them a good f***. And of course these women will hit the wall in their late 30s, not getting the same attention as before from the chads and will start crying that there are no good men while they intentionally ignored the good men.

Average men are getting more and more desperate for some female attention which is why online dating is booming thanks to them and which is why OF is booming thanks for them. Denying men intimacy, love and compassion is good for these bussineses.

I'm voting for the lemonade dances.

Guys, you've no idea what a leveller dancing is. A man who really knows what to do on the dance floor gains an automatic rating hike, face like a busted shoe or whatever. Plus, you can tell who has shit taste in music right away.

I danced with a lot of limber shoes in the 80's. Had a total blast.

Seriously though, when meeting people was harder it was so much better. People are so harshly judgemental now, everybody has to be 'hot' from the get-go rather than looking for or happening upon good qualities that don't involve perfect faces and bodies.

edit: and clubs now aren't the same, it's too loud for talking and the music isn't great for couples dancing.

It's plain truth that online dating (like many parts of modern society) is a scam to disenfranchise men. Unfortunately, truth is less and less welcome in this day and age.

As long as there are simps and women flock to the upper echelon of men nothing will change. Women dominate the dating scene. It's in their power and they are ruining it. I have no issue personally, I am single and enjoying the free market. At the end of the day I would like to find a partner eventually. So I have to take an L somehow it feels like..

Dating apps are a business. And unlike matchmaking services, which were much more analogue and had to maintain a visible success rate to stay in business, apps don't have to. Because there are guys who will pay.

It's just like clubs and bars promoting ladies night. Who pays? The men. Learn to recognize when a business profits off your failure, and take your money elsewhere.

Dating rips off men, period. Partially because of women, partially because of hypergamy, and partially because of the men who fail to set boundaries and vet women for their moral character. Problem is, if we fix that last part, the whole ripoff scheme falls completely apart.

If I had a penny for every time I observed a guy (on Reddit and beyond) saying a woman's looks is the primary thing he looks at, I could buy the whole planet with cash left over to insure it.

We're not helpless, we can stop this.

"and $100 on random people they met online..." There's one quick and easy way to rework this - don't spend money on women. Of course that also requires not seeing career women as a bad thing (as TRP does).

Like I said we can end this by being less thirsty.

When I was single, no gal that I liked ever gave a damn to me, ..and gals around me would always ridicule the guys like me who were well dressed, well mannered, knew chivalry and were respecting to the womenfolks. Well then, I got married to the Woman whose traditional conduct was exactly what I dreampt of. Perhaps she brought me luck and I got a secure and high salary job, now all those chicks I once liked have flooded my mail box trying to get me to have a chit chat with them, and all I do is give them dry -not interested- answers so that they can just f*** off and let me focus on my work and my family....
