We all have some level of privilege. However, it's not a static thing. It's situational and relative. It varies from person to person and moment to moment. Your white cis male privilege wasn't much of a privilege when engaging feminist was it?

Since most feminists cannot prove that you personally are oppressing them they need to inculcate in you a feeling of guilt. Why? Because their empowerment stems from their victimhood and their victimhood requires an oppressor. They tell you that you shouldn't feel guilty about it - but really you need to feel guilty about it because they're about to tell you to "check it". You need to censor yourself and grant them privilege because they are the oppressed.

We live in a society were everyone has equal agency under the law. However, instead of empowering themselves with their agency to improve their own lives they want men to repress themselves. They do this at every turn by hammering home the message of guilt through "privilege" and shame through "violence and rape".

If you've ever spoken to a male feminist who hates his gender/race you'll realize how potent and destructive this message is.

This, I think, is why the MRA is against the major feminist narratives.

I didn't read the whole thing, just kind of skimmed through it, but I feel like responding to this:

A man has the privilege of walking past a group of strange women without worrying about being catcalled, or leered at, or having sexual suggestions tossed at him.

A pretty common male response to this point is “that’s a privilege? I would love if a group of women did that to me.”

And that response, right there, is a perfect shining example of male privilege.

No, that's a perfect example of a first world problem. A gripe that is so trivial and asinine that people who aren't as privileged as you actually wished they had your "problem".

It's like saying the average nobody is "privileged" compared to someone like a celebrity because they don't have people trying to talk to them or get their attention all the time. Or how a hobo is privileged because nobody asks them for change. It's some of the most completely ass-backward logic ever, but very typical coming from your average feminist. Attractive people have this same problem in comparison to ugly people but no one in their right mind would actually try to argue that it makes ugly people privileged.

Another thing that I want to add is that women have the privilege of actually having their complaints about this sort of thing taken seriously. Men who get more sexual attention than they're comfortable with receive virtually zero social sympathy or support. And I guess that's sort of another privilege for these women too, the ability to completely deny that their problems ever happen to men, or even have the same effect on men. Like it's always worse when something bad happens to a woman than it is for a man even when it's the exact same thing happening.

Oh god not that video game analogy where white male is the easiest of all "difficulty settings". That analogy is pretty off base. When you play a video game and choose the easy difficulty you are guaranteed the easiest path. Being born white, cis, and male is NOT guaranteed access to the easiest path. On the other end of that scale is hardest difficulty. Picking the hardest difficulty guarantees that you are on the hardest path. Being born something other than the combo of white, cis, male is NOT a guarantee of getting on the most difficult path.

The problem with a lot of feminists is that they are more concerned with flashy analogies and zinging takedowns that they don't realize that parts of their message are getting lost and twisted. Who cares if the analogy doesn't fit as long as it sounds cool enough to get lots of reblogs and retweets right?

Men are not more successful that is apex fallacy.

All her arguments for why men have it easy are high abstractions and stories that are not verifiable. She says catcalling is a big deal, but there is no evidence that it is. The evidence is that men are homeless, men commit suicide, men are more likely to be put in a mental institution.

For every 100 girls (boys and men suffer more of every conceivable measurable negative outcome).

School treats girls better than boys.

Parents treat girls better than boys (more likely to give boys up for adoption etc see the pdf).

How can being male be easier if the first 20 years are harder? This is matriarchy.

I've seen this "parable" before. It has four basic flaws:

There is no mutual benefit between the dog and the lizard.

Stockholm aside, individuals don't elect to enter or remain in a relationship they derive no value from - whether we're talking about affection, sex, money, etc.

The lizard has no ability to alter "her" circumstances.

If the lizard is representative of women, then feminists would seem to believe that women have no way to interact with the world aside from whining.¹

The lizard requires the assistance of the dog to have a "normal" life.

Complimentary to the second point, for the lizard to be comfortable then "she" needs "him" (the dog) to do it for "her."

Their comfort is mutually exclusive.

Although any one of these might be forgivable - it is supposed to be a metaphor - when you tally them together, it bears little (if any) resemblance to reality.

Are we expected to believe women were selected (evolutionarily speaking) to be miserable? That's the only conclusion I can reach after reading this.

Homeless priviledge checklist.

Homeless people don't have to mow their lawns
Homeless people don't have to pay rent or a mortgage
Homeless people aren't looked down upon when their house is messy
Homeless people don't need to pay for utilities.

And so on.

The whole concept of privilege in the way feminists use it is ridiculous, and they just selectively pick any possible way that you can make being male seem good to make their case.
