I think it's funny because those women don't understand the difference between the likelihood of being attacked vs the consequences of being attacked.

With the bear, the consequences are much greater.

I hate when you argue with them, they don't even see how its always illogical to choose bear.

Worst case scenario, both decide to attack. You could potentially fight off a man (fight dirty go for his eyes, sensitive areas, pull his hair etc), run and go to a area with other humans where he will back off unless he's truly deranged that he's going to attack you in public with others watching. Compared to a bear that can kill you with one swipe, is faster, won't care about other humans watching. Oh yeah they eat you alive, they don't even bother killing you before they start munching on you.

And I refuse to believe they are more scared of men, its just something they say because it makes them look like a victim. If a couple of bears were in a cafe would they go in? if someone said behind 2 doors one had a bear and the other a man, which would they choose?

Tbf, which kind of bear? I would happily run into a spectacled bear with 0% chance of doing anything but being cute than an armed man or woman who has a 0.1% or whatever chance of trying to mug me. Brown bear maybe not.
