They’re doing worse because they read and believe shit like this.

Math should be absolute. If you’re claiming that women are scientifically equal in skill at certain ages then you have to look at other factors. The testing methodology isn’t the problem since that doesn’t change regardless of what age you are.

Are girls simply deciding not to focus as much time on math?

For boys I’m not surprised math is something they can focus on. It’s absolute. You either got the right answer or you didn’t. When a female teacher simply grades your work 10% less for being a boy, no wonder they focus on things that have reason.

I don’t think women realise that in order to fight for equality, you need to be atleast somewhat good at math.

Because if you don’t know how to balance the two sides of the “=“ sign, how do you expect to come up with equal solutions.

The way I read that, they didn't give solely the female students more time, they gave everyone more time.

Yes, they justified the decision by suggesting it helped women more than men, which is odd in itself, and I think it's a little odd to imply that women are somehow no good under pressure, which is the conclusion many people might very reasonably draw from this. There's also the issue of women and girls generally doing better than men and boys academically, but... that's another matter. In general as far as I can see "female students got more time on the STEM tests" is not actually the case.

I like racing motorcycles. The intuitive calculations on speed, angle of inclination, counter-steer, coefficients of rolling friction versus static friction on braking... it's nice, and kinda takes you out of yourself. I guess women will need more time on the corners.

In a situation where members of the public might be affected by math/spatial awareness, female air traffic controllers might simply need more time.

The STEM acronym is lame to me, Like it will cause women to major in stuff they don't want to.

TBF - the women engineers I worked with were as good as anybody.

A bit off the post but in the USAF (long ago) we had "equal" physical tests. They were equal because the tests were set up so an equal number of women passed as men. The courses were not the same you understand. They made the passing grades come out equal.
