Absolutely.

It’s super common in the concealed firearm crowd. Plenty of situations where you would want somebody to back off, but aren’t ready to shoot them. And getting into a fist fight is a bad idea even without a gun on you.

It’s funny. Lots of people think “pepper spray is for girls!” But the Venn diagram is girls on one side, and guys who carry guns on the other, with pepper spray where the circles cross.

I keep some in my car too for road ragers. If somebody decides to run up on my car I’ll just crack the window and spray their ass. Women included.

Pepper spray is more so rarely lethal than non-lethal. I think it is worrying how comfortable most people feel spraying people with it. Though if you need a weapon for self defense it is reasonable. Honestly, a high powered flashlight is one of the best nonlethal self defense tools.

Edit: IcyMike on YouTube is one of the most respected voices in the self defense community. Check out his videos about using a flashlight for self defense. A high powered flashlight blasting in your pretty much obliterates your ability to do anything other than turn around and walk away.

If there was a legally reliable way for men to add consequence to double standard behavior, I think men would be on board.

But if there is any enemy, it's probably perception. Amber Herd's "I wasn't punching you, I was hitting you" is a clear tell that she feels her actions are justified and yours aren't. You're probably going to need to have proof that her "I didn't do anything" is quite factually false before we continue down the poetic justice route.

Glasses with always on cameras might be the move lol.

Yeah, honestly if a woman decided to attack me out of the blue, I would definitely use pepper spray. Self defense is self defense regardless who attacked first. Remember that reddit mods, if you ever find yourself attacked by a woman needing to defend yourself. Remember...

"Defending" yourself against woman always seems risky, unless you have actual camera footage or witnesses.

I would jsut try to stay away from women as much as possible in these situations. Even if you use non lethal force, people will still try to find a way to defend the women, especially if there are bystanders they might end up beating you up.

Absolutely not. You aren't aware of other people calling you a criminal so you need to be cautious about your decision as well.

It depends on your decision if you want to protect yourself from harm and also you have some reason to say through the authority or law enforcement about the incident.
