Why bother going out into a hostile environment to find a job and a girlfriend when the need for a sense of achievement, along with sexual desire, can be sated in your childhood bedroom, however artificially?

Communal purpose = and my problems too.

This is just a typical tradcon, bemoaning, "Oh where have all the stoic manly men-slaves gone? Now men want to express emotion and not work every day of their lives for a family that barely notices they exist! What a moral failure!"

If you want young men to play the game of being contributing adults, fathers, and husbands, then there needs to be a way for them to win. I'm not sure why anyone would be surprised they try to avoid a society that keeps trying to convince everyone that they're bad and there's nothing they can do to change that. If every available path ends with them losing (or a high likelihood), the only rational choice is to not play. How dare they be rational!

My nephew is 16 and on this track - failing in school, only cares about his GF and videogames.

Once again,an article that's written by a woman, presuming to know and tell men what's wrong with them. I knew it would be nonsense when the author,un-ironically, wrote about the "persistent wage gap for women" while then going on immediately to say about how women are out earning men.
