I think you need to realise that hating the toxic ideology of feminism does not mean that you hate women or even that you disagree with women having equality (which they already do in western countries).

It's just the same as saying: you can hate the cult of Scientology because of the harm it causes to its victims, but that doesn't mean you hate all Americans.

I love how the definition of "hate" now includes: 1) disagreeing with x; 2) disliking x; 3) choosing not to associate with x; 4) having values and standards different from x---none of which require ill-will or a desire to do harm or malice.

This is not just a problem with the gender war, but the broader progressive conflagration under which you either accept the values of those in power or be branded as some kind of "-ist" or "-phobe"

There's no denying that there are some misogynistic posts here, although I feel pretty strongly they're more the work of a loud minority than the general consensus of the sub. What sets this community apart is its genuine commitment to free speech, even speech that is objectionable. The downside of course is that a lot of bullshit gets posted here, but I think what we get in the trade is invaluable - a place where everyone is free to discuss their ideas without fear of being banned for dissenting from the group's ideology. I definitely agree with you on what we should be striving for here, but I think that we better serve that goal by allowing bad ideas to be presented and challenged than by trying to sweep them under the rug.

Why would you assume that a sub about mens rights would have people who participate in it be largely feminists? What you're looking for is r/menslib. Over there they have your male feminists who love sucking up to feminists and hate free speech.

There is no "true" feminism.

The moment you start speaking about "true" anything you have either just invalidated your argument, or crippled the chances of getting a satisfactory answer to your question.

Though in my experience I have seen several posts I would consider to be mired in a narrative of hate, though they rarely make it very far before having their nature revealed.

Personally I don’t see a issue with hate. People should hate evil and immorality, and when it rears its ugly head you should feel that burning desire to see it eradicated. The problem comes when you begin to associate evil and immorality with an entity, not an action, and with a group, not the individual responsible for the action in question.
