/r/mensrights is not the place to bash feminists. Nowhere does it say it in the subreddit sidebar or the FAQ. The subreddit was started to be about equality.
transitive v. Informal To criticize (another) harshly, accusatorially, and threateningly: "He bashed the . . . government unmercifully over the . . . spy affair” ( Lally Weymouth).
The Mens Rights Movement supports equality and social rights for people of all genders, but we focus primarily on the often neglected needs of men, boys, and their children.
Is the MRM anti-woman?
No, Many women support mens rights. and actively participate in this subreddit.
See my comment here: https://www.reddit.com/r/MensRights/comments/5xi8zf/this_subreddit_has_changed/deigwnz don't fall for the idea that people fit into nice neat boxes, all feminists are misandry-filled overweight pink haired lesbians. Not everyone who wants equal rights for women and men is like that. To completely ignore actual provable facts that there are differences in how each sex gets treated when it's in your favor revokes your right to do the same when it's not in your favor.
E.g. Professional musicians for philharmonic groups: males are hired more often when the judges can see the musician, but if they put a curtain up so the judges can't tell their sex, there is no difference in who gets hired.
We all have unconscious biases. We need to understand them (check out Wikipedia's list of cognitive biases https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cognitive_biases) so that when those biases happen to not be in our favor (child custody, etc) we can correct them.
I guess it just depends on the people you talk to every day. If we only ever see a stereotype of someone on TV or the internet (e.g. liberals, conservatives, Muslims, Mexicans...) then we never really get to understand that a whole group of people can't be stereotyped into one neat box. Go out and talk to some people who want equal rights for women. They'll surprise you.
Every post I see recently just bashes feminism, and not even a real form of feminism, but the straw-man feminist that wants to "kill all cis-white men."
Feminism should be bashed. THey don't even help women, let alone men. They actively make things worse for both sexes/genders.
Also I don't see how this is a straw man when it's quite widespread. Trust me it's not just a "few" feminists.
Women have issues as well, this subreddit was about not bashing women's issues, but talking about the issues men uniquely have.
What source do you have when you say extremist feminism is widespread / all feminists hate men?
Please try not to point to the loud minority of extremist views from an internet blog, because that's similar to saying Islam is a violent religion because there are extremists who practice Islam. Remember that the KKK are extremists that practice Christianity.
You really expect me to list all feminist books and all the articles? That would take weeks of typing.
The leaders of feminism are all man haters at the least. All the celebrated feminists. Just look on the internet. Just look at the hate directed at the few sane feminists.
Islam is a violent religion because there are extremists who practice Islam.
Actually violence is built into the religion. Non violent Muslims aren't practising their religion correctly. Also read about how Islam was founded on horrific violence.
Remember that the KKK are extremists that practice Christianity.
Not really. KKK was motivated by racism which is not at all unique to Christianity.
Show me a violent quote from the Quran and I'll show you two from the Bible. That's absolutely ridiculous to try to argue non-violent Muslims aren't practicing their religion correctly.
Obviously the Bible is violent. That does not automatically mean that's the KKK's motivation for their crimes.
Also you think you're so smart but you're very obvious lack of logic proves you wrong in a second. Did you ever consider that the Bible could be violent AND the Quran could be AS WELL?
Also of course it's not ridiculous. Jewish people are not practising their religion correctly either. At least Jews admit it. Many Christians don't follow the teachings of Jesus.
Did you ever consider that the Bible could be violent AND the Quran could be AS WELL?
... that's the point
Jewish people are not practising their religion correctly either. At least Jews admit it. Many Christians don't follow the teachings of Jesus. So why is it ridiculous to claim a lot of Muslims aren't practising theirs correctly?
Okay, so you just mean, everyone is practicing their religions wrong and all religions are violent. So we should all just be kind to one another instead of practicing religion. I'm down with that.
As long as you're not saying Islam is more violent than any other religion, i think we can agree.
No it isn't. The point was you pretending Islam was not violent. When it clearly is.
You're such a desperate idiot.
Instead of practicing religion includes feminism. And yes it's essentially a religion. (If you want to know what the "god" is, they worship women and female supremacy).
If the KKK is wrong so is feminism.
As long as you're not saying Islam is more violent than any other religion, i think we can agree.
You really are retarded. Islam is more violent than lots of other religions. You do realise that more than 3 exist, right?
Islam is a violent religion because there are extremists who practice Islam.
You said
Actually violence is built into the religion. Non violent Muslims aren't practising their religion correctly. Also read about how Islam was founded on horrific violence.
I took that to mean you thought Islam was more violent than other religions.
I said Islam is just as violent as other religions.
Then you said:
Did you ever consider that the Bible could be violent AND the Quran could be AS WELL?
I agreed with you:
Did you ever consider that the Bible could be violent AND the Quran could be AS WELL?

Then you said:

No it isn't. The point was you pretending Islam was not violent. When it clearly is.
So we agreed then you decided to disagree for argument's sake?
I absolutely agree with you about that article. That's a ridiculous article.
The problem is this subreddit has become so opposite of what it was 9 years ago when it was created. It used to "[support] equality and social rights for people of all genders, but we focus primarily on the often neglected needs of men, boys, and their children." FAQ
But now as you can see, it has devolved to calling anyone with a dissenting opinion a liar, to as terrible as the top comment of that very article calling the writer a "land whale."
How childish is that? This subreddit needs to grow up and focus on the big picture problems that men face, not the loud extremist minority of feminists.
