Everyone is an individual. Even if men were biologically 50,000 times more violent, aggressive, stupid, perverted, whatever than women, we should still give those who aren't a chance. This goes for any group of people.

I think the harder thing to explain to people is that is it happening. I swear they go def the second it’s brought up. Or somehow doesn’t apply to them if their intention isn’t to be hateful. Or you get some random spiel about ‘patriarchy’ back.

You cannot reason a person out of a position they did not reason themselves into in the first place.

I would say it's impossible to make arguments against any form of bigotry, because the bigot can change their priorities and values such that the bigotry does not contradict them. Then all of a sudden, you don't "really need" men, because living with a lower standard of life is worth it once the supreme enemy is taken out. "End justifies the means" and all.

David Hilbert, an influential German mathematician who proposed the "decision problem" that influenced theoretical computer science, was faced with a question by the Nazi minister of education: "How is mathematics at [the University of] Göttingen, now that it is free from the Jewish influence?" Hilbert replied: "There is no mathematics in Göttingen anymore." This was before the Holocaust and even Nuremberg laws btw, so I'm not invoking those historical events here. The Jewish faculty were simply fired from their jobs at this point.

If Jews being influential in the sciences, economy, and culture did not deter the Nazis from carrying out their intense persecutions, then what stops feminists from promoting laws, systems, and activities that are designed to marginally undermine men via the "boiling frog" effect? They will say that we are overreacting, that they have no secret agendas, that they just want equality, but their actions clearly show a different intention.

Individual misandry often leads to systemic misandry. The VAWA funding "prevention" programs specifically for men/boys was systemic misandry. Duluth model is systemic misandry. Dixiecrats supporting lynchings under the pretext of deterring rapes was systemic racism and misandry. The UK gov. planning to implement prison abolition but only for women is wokewashed systemic misandry. Misandry IS real, but is illogical and cannot be reasoned with.

It’s funny how logical all these answers are and how most commenters really want equality and fairness. The same discussion on a feminist sub would be a shit show.

Misandry and misogyny are both prevalent in different ways and both need to be reduced without eliminating the very things that make people male and female (if they so choose.)

Hmm. Get rid of these man hating spoilt brats and you'll kill 2 birds 1 stone. Let me tell you. I'm 49. I'm my entire life the TRUE SEXISM IVE seen are from these, weird, nasty, envious, bratty, entitled women, they usually all have same characteristics, bitter, hate men, usually because of some decision she was part of. Oh but they refuse to look mirror, no it's just me are bad MMKAY. I've heard boys usually make some sexist comments but they never TRULY HATED women. Ya know. Only ones I've seen like that are these types of women. And get this guys, they've, literally taken over, male support roles. I couldn't even request because of sexist comments from one, without getting a threatening letter from this bitch. Basically having a go at me, she didn't say it out rite but was clear she was trying to call me sexist. Just for asking for a male, oh no. That's sexist.

I sent one back. It's usually the one pointing the finger, and this woman from my first LOOK, I didn't even need her to speak. I could tell, hated something. Didn't know at time, but my instincts were telling me, I don't like her. AT. ALL. SOMETHING IS OFF, with her.

Uh, men built and take care of everything that exists in our society for one. Men built your car in a factory. Men work in some shitty oil field to extract the gas that propels your car. Men built the walls and roof of the room youre in. Men installed the plumbing you shit in, water lines you drink from, and electrical circuits you use. Men installed your air conditioning. Men built your computer, cell phone, and the internet. Men paved the road outside your house and your driveway. Men came by every week since you were born to pick up your garbage and dispose of it. Men invented all of that, and it's men who will come and repair it if you need help. And you've never once said "Thank you" to any of those men who made this life possible. Men go off and die fighting all of your wars. That's just the start and 1% of it. I'd say a lot more than that to express my true feelings about the gender war, but this is reddit after all. Men were made in the image of god, and women were made for what again? And under what argument can they complain about men who made all of this without coming across as an ungrateful useless gender

Misandry ends up harming everyone, including the misandrists themselves. It degrades the trust and mutual support necessary for a society to thrive. Those who are unfairly maligned get less help, so they give less help too. All end up worse off.

Hating a man for simply being a man (which is ~ half the population mind you) is no different than hating someone for the colour of their skin or any other arbitrary generalization.

Another argument is it's hypocritical and contradictory. People love to hate on misogynists and scold them for it, but society seems to deem misandry as socially acceptable, even though they are practically the same thing.

It's just a way to try to divide men and women, who need each other as much as the other.
