Having read tons of papers I have come to the conclusion there do not exist reliable statistics. Essentially all the scholarship is politically motivated. Too many things can be defined differently by different people. What does "rape" mean? What percentage of rapists are we assuming are caught. If someone is found guilty/innocent in court what percentage of the time do we assume the verdict is accurate? What about plea bargains? etc

Read any paper someone gives you purporting to answer this. Odds are the methodology is bad.

The number of men who admit to being rapists in anonymous surveys is about 5-10%. Obviously it varies by study. This is a metastudy which estimates a little under 5%. Note: given the low figure for male victims, I'm guessing "rape" means "rape by penetration," or possibly a random hodgepodge depending on the study (which would mean they are mega-incompetent, so I hope not). I don't have institutional access so I can't verify.

Lisak et al's Repeat Rape and Multiple Offending Among Undetected Rapists establishes an estimate of 6%. Unlike many other questionnaires, Lisak's was verified in a previous work by follow-up interviews, which established no false positives. This is a college sample rather than a community one, but I highly recommend reading it and Understanding the Predatory Nature of Sexual Violence as they help establish qualitative facts about rapists with an evidence-based approach, and help toss out the "all men are rapists, just some of them haven't raped yet" idea.

Reputable stats don't really exist due to political incentives or simply the limitation on determining whether rape occurred.

The number of reported rapes of women in the US is ~80,000. Assuming each one had a unique offender(which isn't the case but creates "maximum possible" scenario) and 117 million men over the age of 16 in the US, that comes to .068%.

If we believed the least conservative estimate on non-report rates of 90%, assumed all of these rapists were men, and each rape had a unique perpetrator, that would come to .68%.

This is also assuming all allegations are true and the courts never make a mistaken, so we would have to believe the worst case scenario in prevalence and best case scenario in prosecution that mostly feminists propose(in which case those numbers are quite disputed), 1 in 147 men rape someone each year.

Well feminists would probably give a number that is hugely inflated because they would inflate the definition of rape like they do when studying it's prevalence. If we are going to use a sensible definition like the number of rapes reported to the FBI every year we will get a low percentage, even if we assume that all rapists only rape once, and that all unproven allegations are true, two assumptions that are almost certainly far from the truth.

to answer this you would need to take into account all of the rapists at large as well as the falsely convicted, which is obviously not possible.

Nobody knows, but let's play an estimation game for fun.

What percent of men:

Seek out women with intent to rape?
Would rape given the opportunity? (e.g. passed out woman on your bed)
Act with integrity but never get consent in writing?

The first category are Rapists. The second category have a sex drive stronger than their morality or empathy. The third are, at worst, "accidental rapists" if their partner neglects to tell them NO when she didn't want sex. I'm ignoring gays here.

My guesses are:

Rapists: 0.5%
Opportunists: 7%
Guys without lawyers: 92.5%

What's your guess? Be honest, there really are rapists out there so don't say 0%.

Well, if you expand the definition of infanticide to include abortion, you can also claim that virtually all women are child murderers, considering the average abortion rate is 0.9

But expanding definitions like that is something only crazy people on a religious mission do.

The difference is, the some crazies enjoy substantial government support in funding and policy.

We need a definition of rape to begin with. The feminist definition is nonsense, but if we are using that then literally every man that has had sex can be shoehorned into that definition and therefore a rapist.

Here is a statistic I have not verified, but it came from a good source.

A few years back, one of my friends became a police officer.

He said that part of his training was to understand that only 3% of the population engages in criminal activity.

This means that if every crime committed was rape - and committed by a man, then roughly only 6% of men are rapists...

Or course, we know that more than men commit crimes, and that not every crime committed is rape...

Therefore, the percentage of men who are rapists is less than 6% - that is less than 3 out of every 50...

Think about that.

That is definitely an extreme minority of men who are actual rapists...

Feminist, Sociologist, Psychologist and various other "Liberal Arts" propaganda wants the public to believe that far more men are rapists.

But, statistics from my local police department anyway, show that very few men (way less than 3 in 50) could possibly be rapists!!!

It's an unknowable statistic.

We know instances of reported rape. We have suggestions on number of unreported rape. We have some knowledge of likelihood of stranger rape/acquaintance rape/other (I'm not sure what to call this category because of things like mutual drunkenness etc). All of these things would need to be accounted for before even making a guess at number of rapists out there.

Then there's false accusations that range from 2% at the most conservative up to 60% or more depending on what you include in the statistic. In the end we get a massive range with two few bounds to even start guessing. Oh, let us not forget, if one rapist has multiple victims but the victim picks the wrong guy in the line-up.
