Nothing stops women from doing what many famous scientists have done and going it alone. The domain is every much open to anyone willing to work hard endlessly on the tiniest detail until they understand it better than others... Of course, I don't think many women like that idea at all.

It not just mental healthcare, it's almost all healthcare/medicine and women also dominate in biological sciences.

When women dominate a field they don't allow scholarships for men (the same ones that they beg for in engineering and physical sciences subjects)

What talent? If they were talented and did the hard work, they would have been hired.

The real loss is to the kids without male teachers and role models throughout primary and secondary education.

The loss is to men who might feel more comfortable with a male proctologist,...

There is no loss if women are not dominating STEM fields. Maybe it is even a boon to men there who are spared female skullduggery.

I'm in consulting and I talk to a number of junior employees as a mentor - it's anecdotal but in the decade I have been in this industry and the 50 odd women mentees I've spoken with - not one has said they want to work on data structures or API designs or understand what platform does what better or even why I should use RPA vs AI or do enterprises architecture. Intact Every one of them have said it in some shape or fashion that they like the "people aspect" of consulting and customer facing nature of it. they've naturally gravitated to product owners, marketing and training functions. There is no organizational roadblock stopping them from choosing any of the deep technical roles and yet the pattern keeps repeating

They still miss out on a way bigger pool of male talent than female. Particularly because nobody ever encourages boys to get into STEM in the first place. Boys get interested because that's their nature, girls prefer interaction with living objects (and dominate related STEM fields), boys non-living (and their domination shrinks because of discriminatory practices). The worst factor of them all - the education system, which makes boys hate school, even what they would have easily enjoyed if only it was tailored for them. Girls mostly, do not have this issue at all. So yeah, they miss out on a male talent more, by a large margin.

Engineering, Physics, and Computational Theory/Computer Science is not missing out. On fucking anything.

If anything, female leadership in any of these fields is almost always a train wreck, and even the women know it.

But talent specifically?

This might be common in the media, but not necessarily true at the school level.

My wife works for our local school district and almost every school has at least 1 male assistant principal or principal at the MS level or higher. The staff understands the importance of strong male figures on campus.

I do live in a more conservative area, so maybe our women are just more realistic than in some areas, but she has mentioned this multiple times in the past and I've heard from her coworkers as well.

Stem field is the one place you can't fake it. Consider this...

A fresh graduate from Commie-U spits out another biased anti-father "therapist" (the norm today) and is somehow immediately snatched up by pink-hat-wearing judges. Once court-appointed, she does what she was trained to do - spends an 40 minutes with the child and now knows that the father is the problem, the mother is a hero and a victim "analysis" is sent to the court to use as a kick in the nuts for him. But you see, the only real evidence of her complete BS "work"--- is the father (who despite having done nothing wrong, still has supposedly "50/50 parental rights", yet will be slowly pushed out "in the best interest of the child", of course) - and the children (who won't feel the consequences for YEARS from now). So the court forces the father to pay the feminist "therapist" for destroying his relationship with his child and everyone (but the father) moves on, ignorant AF about why society is collapsing. It's the perfect job for her, zero accountability.

So is being a professor, what immediate evidence is there if a professor suddenly started teaching sociology students absolute pure fictional BS? Are the dead going to rise from the grave and start filing complaints at Commie-U's "DE&I" new extended complex (that takes up half of campus)? No. It would take years for the impact to be visible. Planes wouldn't fall out of the sky, but perhaps one day commie-U's students decide to replace statues of actual hero's with monsters from history that cost rivers of blood to get rid of...like Marx or Lenin. Society would just raise their hands and say "kids today!" Again, no hard immediate accountability.

But........... turn in some code that doesn't compile...that "feels like it should work?" That's immediate FAILURE feedback.

Engineer a crappy circuit that eats watts instead of milliwatts? That happens at the speed of light.

Part of it is true. In my 4 years in university taking computer science classes as part of my computer science degree, the vast majority of my classmates were male

As a feminist, I agree that there should be more men in teaching so that men can have role models that they can follow. A reason that there are less men in teaching is because in the past and still today teaching has been considered a "female" job. Vice versa, in the past STEM careers were not seen for women. Therefore, we should overturn these gender sterotypes and inform women that they are able to partake in STEM fields while men can partake in teaching without making them less masculine. In this case, women are being told that they can do STEM jobs which is valid; however, men are not being told that they should do teaching which is not right. So yes you have a point both men and women should be told that they can do jobs that in the past have been typically seen as not suitable for them.
