I am egalitarian, that is the only label I willingly carry. The issue is that MRA is the only way I see to reach a truly egalitarian society.

I advocate for rights for men. That makes me a mens' rights advocate. Because that's how language works, I am a noun that verbs.

My motivation is egalitarian - a belief that people should have equal rights.

My MRA views line up perfectly with Egalitarianism. I just don't call it that because feminists are abusive monsters who see an inch and take a mile.

Yes, I support women's rights too. But, try telling a feminist that - in 30 seconds they throw some batshit extremist nonsense at you, and then scream at you for not supporting it. I support women's rights. I do not support women's favoritism.

Feminists are just too brainwashed to know the difference. Not my fault. MRA is the only label that gets it through their head.

I Don't label myself as anything. A lot of our problems are coming from the idea of tribalism ideals that are just wrong. I am for people, and peoples rights and human rights. I find my self with this account to post to mens rights for that reason. Men are kicked aside in the western world, men are kicked down in the western world. There for, if i want to help people the best way I can, one of the best ways to help is mens rights subs and paths.

if we walk around saying we identify as this or that, then you are also saying you don't identify as something while some one else does. On paper this is great! however, in reality it builds division, and the ore divided we become the easier we are to push around and control by a government that stopped caring about all its people a long time ago.

Women have causes that need help. Men have causes that need help.

Each person in a gender needs some kind of help, however post as a woman seeking help, post as a man seeking help see who gets it.

I have helped 100s of thousands of people in my life; i chose to help men more because they are the ones who need it more, and are more likely to suffer worse outcomes if their issues are not addressed. They are also the ones currently under attack.

I don't label myself or anyone; I just reach out to those who are in the most need.

Seriously, feminism is a massive movement with enormous influence. If it were really open to discussing issues that men have and judging them on their actual merits as to what should higher priority there would be less need for a specific MRM.

That’s why so much of this sub is directed against feminism IMHO. They’ve so framed things that boosting women is now seen as synonymous with “equality”. So females being more than 60% of graduates and rising rapidly is framed as being a “boost for equality” in the so called left leaning “quality media”!

And here’s the sad truth. Feminists have removed the gendered laws that disadvantaged women. But have no interest in removing the laws or policies that disadvantage men. Indeed many (like Katherine Spillar) actively deny they exist. On the contrary they actually advocate for active discrimination AGAINST men (with some lip service thrown in about “racial minorities” and gay men to make it look good).

Feminism is not responsible for all the issues that men face. But it’s denial of so many of them and active push to penalise men lead to the need of an MRM if only to counter their malign influence and neglect of issues that particularly affect men.

First off, many MRAs identify as both.

Second off, name one right under the law that, in the US of A, men have, that women don't have. When it comes to the reverse (rights that women have that men don't have), I can name several.

Until that state of affairs changes, that is until men start getting new rights that women don't get, or until rights men currently have are taken away from women only, it makes no sense for an egalitarian to advocate for the rights under the law of the people whom already have them. At most, an egalitarian might argue in favor of a right currently denied to both (such as the right for adults to decide out of their own free will what they will put or won't put into their own bodies, and I say that as someone whom doesn't even like drugs/alcohol) to be given to both.

Unless you use a weird definition of equality where having more rights mean you're equal of course. I don't use that definition.

I like the label "MRA" though because it makes it clear that there are areas men are specifically disadvantaged, and I want to fight for those too.

Because i think the only way to get into an egalitarian society is for men rights to get a sit on the table.
If there was a strong egaltiarian movement capable of adressing men rights set up i would jump boats onto that one, but it doesnt even begin to exist is just in our imagination.
I would ask to you, why do you think there isnt a strong egalitarian movement already in place to begin with? I think is because men rights dont have a say so egalitarianism quickly mutated into feminism.

As I’ve said before, I’m an egalitarian at my core, but I’m an MRA first because I’m a man. I have lived experiences of abuse through the male lens. I have fewer support structures and suffer loneliness in a way I would argue is uniquely male. I receive less assistance from social programs as a male. I can speak to MRA issues because I have lived them.

I support women’s rights because I am egalitarian. I rebuke feminism because it is a female supremacy movement that actively disenfranchises pro-male initiatives.

Pretty much everyone here is. For me MRA it's kinda to give feminist an idea of how stupid it is to only want better lives for one gender.

But in general MRA spaces are more for spreading the word. Not just echo chambers like feminist spaces

I consider myself an egalitarian. I did originally participate in feminist subreddits, but got banned for essentially disagreeing with them. I haven’t yet been banned from this subreddit, so this feels more inclusive. I wouldn’t say I only support men’s rights.
