Actually I've noticed anything produced by Jerry Bruckheimer (CSI, etc.) always seems to have these same old themes recycled over and over again. Man beats up his wife, rapes his niece, etc. I rarely watch CSI anymore (except for CSI Miami once in a while for laughs; they are the biggest collection of douchebags I have ever seen).

Law and Order and its various iterations also jumped the shark years ago. Should be euthanized.

There is no justification and no attempt at it. TV is run for the benefit of advertisers (read "Four Arguments for the Elimination of TV" by Jerry Mander for technical details of how programmes are deliberately made inferior to the adverts.) Since discretionary spending is to a very large degree controlled by women, they are the privileged group as far as all TV is concerned. There is, however, an option, as far as adverts are concerned. We can systematically complain to advertising standards authorities every time a men are portrayed unfairly in adverts by fact of being male. Here in Australia, the standards are quite clear and it is equally clear that much of the portrayal of men contravenes them. We only need to start complaining in large numbers. The anti-male bias in the media is the reason I discovered the MRA movement in the first place. I did a google search about the topic and news.mensactivism.org came up. I found out I wasn't alone.

When I was very young, I noticed that the females in the typical sitcom were usually the non-funny characters. Think of Homer Simpson vs Marge. Who's funnier? Who makes you laugh and want to see the show again? Think of Steve Urkel vs Laura in Family Matters. The women in these shows are NOT funny. If they do make a joke, it's usually just their witty remark about an actual funny male character. Sure Homer is a idiot and a fat ass which makes him funny, but of course, his wife is thin, hot, and smart. Don't get me started on Lisa, who is basically a 45 year old bitter feminist trapped in a 12 year old body.
Also at a young age, I noticed that a woman hitting a man is comedy while the opposite is horrible.
Women never really getting the shit-end of the stick in sitcoms. Especially the usual men vs women episodes of sitcoms where they compete against each other.
Commercials are horribly biased against men...even when the target audience is men.

It's simple.

Women hold most of the purchasing power.

Advertising targets those with the purchasing power.

Shows are paid for by that advertising.

Fear and misandry are what women want to see.

I dunno, but as a woman I am sick of it too.

I'm tired of rape being so damn common on tv/film, and tired of the traditional retarded male+superwife combo I keep seeing everywhere
