As a woman, I've been told my entire life that I don't need men. My mom would bash men, including my dad. She would call him an idiot, stupid, all sorts of things and continues to bash men. It hurt me when she'd say these things about my dad because he was an amazing father. The kind of father who would feel scared shitless when something happened to his daughters, and protected them from harm. I don't aspire to be alone, single, and without my long term boyfriend. (Almost 9 years) I feel angry being told I don't need him, and that I'm not independent and that I let my need for him define me. A lot of the feminists offline and online that I've spoken to tell me that women definitely don't need men.(even non feminists)

Why are we sitting in a home with electricity then? Why is it such a horrible toxic thing to admit you need men or a man? Telling women they don't need men is doing a disservice for men, it makes men seem useless. Of course women can be single but its a lie to say no one needs men for anything.
