Turned down by a guy when I was 18. Told everyone I was ugly, weird, and annoying. I remember afterward I had to give him some assignment from a teacher and he made this big show of yelling at me in front of everyone "stop bothering me. I don't like you!"

I think to some degree its insulting to men if an ugly woman likes you so maybe you don't become creepy but you become annoying, disgusting, a little ugly thing they want to forget because it insults them.

Also back to being an ugly girl I have been inexplicably punched or hurt by many men who I didn't even know at parties and social events purposely. Literally minding my own business and punched in stomach by a guy at a crowded party. Or standing at a concert and a guy is kind of next to me, keeps looking over at me so I smile at him and he slapped me in the face and started screaming at me. I guess I've never heard of women randomly attacking men for being creep but I can't help but think if you are an ugly girl men are so disgusted by the sight of you you will be physically hurt.

I get that being rejected is an unpleasant experience and that people can be unnecessarily cruel while doing it, but I think framing it in such an extreme manner is disingenuous. When someone calls another person 'creepy' it does not usually imply that they think they're a 'rapist in the making'. It's not a compliment, sure, but when I use it, and when the people I know use it, it's largely used to describe someone who acts weird makes people feel a bit uncomfortable, not someone who people suspect is a full blown rapist or potential threat since far harsher terms are used for that. I've actually never heard 'creepy' used in the extreme and serious manner in real life that people claim it is on the internet, my friends and I even use it to take the piss out of each other when one of them strikes out.

Usually when Americans say that the word works that way I put it down to cultural differences, but I know that you're from the UK as well so I'm confused by how there's such a disconnect in the way we perceive it. It's making me question whether it's generally used that way much even in the US or whether the whole thing is another reddit exaggeration.

Yes. At about age 15, I was obsessed with a guy and he was not interested. He told all of his and my friends that I was a creepy stalker. It wasn't pleasant.

Nah. I've done some creepy shit before. Like googling a guy I had a crush on, reading all his social media, and then talking to him about the stuff I read on his social media. I'm pretty sure he thought I was pathetic... But not creepy. Men aren't threatened by women, even when they should be.

Yes, it does help to develop basic conversational skills before you start flirting with girls. It's like learning to walk before you try to ride a bike (which requires even more balancing ability).

Here is something ive noticed.

When it comes to giys being considered creepy there is a rush to judge that he must have done something to deserve it. He wouldnt take no for an answer, he touched her without permission, made a rude remark......SOMETHING.

On the other hand when a woman is in a similar position she tends to get more sympathy and no similar rush to judgement. The guy hates women, he doesnt acknowledge women that arent "hot", men are jerks.

I cannot help but feel that the meme "Men fear women will laugh at them. Women fear men will kill them" is yet another reductio ad absurdium thrown out to trivialise the male experience.

If im not mistaken there is no statistical backing to that quote and the woman who originated it polled her male and female friends and came up with that quote.

This is very easy to check. Go and try to get sex with women you find attractive. If you can't - you are incel. If you didn't even check - you can't say you are attractive. You are only as attractive as how much you attract women (and what for - sex or orbit).

I'm not sure how many people here have been falsely accused of abuse, told that you're harassing someone, called creepy and generally been labeled not just as unattractive but am immoral, nasty person.

I'm not sure if they actually think that. I think they just call people names like that just to make them mad or to feel make themselves feel superior to others. It's an old tactic and a sign of insecurity. No reason to give into that or worry about what other people say.

Besides, if women really did think that such a man was "creepy" and feared that he might kill them, would they seriously continue taunting him, making him angry, and risk unleashing his wrath upon them? Would any sensible, logical, rational human being do such a thing?
