Solid post, agree. Would like to add that most guys don't have an abundance mentality and are happy for any girl that accepts them.

Men will settle for any woman decent in looks and personality. They commit pretty easily, and tend to look for women whose value are proportionate to theirs. Few would go after the most attractive one anyway.

Well, those high quality men are most probably rich etc. Basically a man's only as faithful as his options - true to some extent. I mean Arnold Schwarzenegger slept with one of the ugliest human being.

There you go, men are polygamous.

P.S.

Men's hypergamy - partner w best looks possible. Most men can't afford to do this anyway.

Female's hypergamy - marrying upwards.

If we accept TRP's definition of hypergamy and not the dictionary's definition, then hypergamy basically means : looking for the best possible partner.

Actually, female hypergamy means two things in TRP: on the one hand the classic idea of wanting a partner who is better than you in some regards (status, finances etc.), on the other the idea of wanting the best partner possible. If the cut-section of these two groups is zero, you get yourself a potential cat lady (for example if you have a professionally very successful woman who has certain hard standards but no guy who is interested in her lives up to them).

Absolutely. I've seen quite a few guys lose interest in a solid girlfriend when a (subjectively, to the guy in question) better one shows interest, or even seems to. I've experienced it myself. If it turns out the 'better' woman wasn't interested, or loses interest, he'll swing back, and usually not be able to explain why the original girl is back to being attractive and not annoying.

The difference is that you are introducing monogamy, which many people (not just TRPers) will argue is not a fully "natural" expression of human mating habits.

Given that constraint on a man's sexuality, he's going to go for the best he can get given the circumstance he is dealing with.

Just because a man chooses monogamy doesn't mean he isn't going to feel sexual attraction for women who are not his monogamous partner.
