If you’re a woman, it’s fine to say you only date flashy, tall, handsome guys and all other men are invisible and worthless to you.

...has anyone other than the most rabid of FDSers said something like this? Specifically the "all other men are worthless" part.

Settling is awful and no woman should be with a man she doesn’t find attractive, even suggesting such a thing is basically rape.

Most of us here don't use the word "rape" lightly, so if there has been anyone saying this please link their comment. Hell, link just the post you saw the comment in because they sound like a very...unique person. I have seen numerous people saying that getting into a relationship with someone you don't want to fuck is asinine, and I agree with this wholeheartedly.

Also, you’re a volcel if you won’t date an obese woman. Lower your standards. You can’t expect a Stacy.

I have seen this one, yes. I think it's dumb and cruel to say that people should just "cure" their virginity by having sex with people they find unattractive.

I haven't yet seen anyone saying that settling is basically rape...just that for many women it is deeply unpleasant, feels physically and emotionally terrible, is an ordeal and does not lead to being a happy contented person who enjoys sex, and that therefore women must be free to choose to embrace being single and seek happiness and contentment that way instead of settling.

I have seen no-one telling men who have embraced being single and found happiness and contentment that they need to return to the relationship marketplace and settle. That advice is pretty much reserved for men who show up here in deep distress because they can not get their preferred type of woman and either heavily imply or outright preach at us loud and long about how their sex drives and need for intimacy are literally torturing them to the point where insanity or serious self harm or serious criminal offending will result.

It's for men we feel are at a point where this is their best option. It's not a good option but something that is not good can still be the best that is available.

Those men, if they lack enthusiasm for physical and personality self improvement and desperately fear being beta providers if they become wealthy we tend to advise to give serious consideration to settling. Find someone you can tolerate, try to lust for her just enough to get by. Build some trust. Have sex that not inspirational but is still sex. Be friends. Set some goals together. And stay alive, sane and out of prison.

There is no flood of women giving out that desperate shrill end-of-their-tether vibe that they have dismissed all other courses of action but will go off the freaking rails completely if they don't get a high quality man. That's why women aren't so much being advised to attempt to revisit their standards.

Also it may have escaped your notice...but you're a participant here too and you're free to speak those opinions if you want at precisely the same risk all of us do...that someone will strenuously disagree.

I mean the biggest hypocrisy I find frustrating is this:

1: Women should not have lots of sex as it lowers their value.

2: Men want a lot of sex with women, and here are strategies to obtain lots of sex.

Like, I don’t get it. If you truly believe sex with women lowers their value, you shouldn’t pursue casual sex with women because then you are lowering their value.

If RP is about self improvement and creating a community for men to feel heard and understood, seems kinda weird that they are ok with lowering the value of women (in their eyes, I don’t think body count is a reliable standard of worth) and thus creating LESS ‘valuable’ women for RP men to date or love.

ESPECIALLY considering how often the argument is made that there are so few women who aren’t ‘low value’ and the amount of times I see people asking for strategies to find women with low body counts/the amount of times I see men listing low/non existent body count as a must for a future partner.

Anyway, I find this sub and RP content fascinating as a woman who is decidedly NOT RP because this community sprung up due to men feeling something was missing. I do not agree with RP ideology, but finding where it comes from, hearing people talk about why it is they subscribe to it, challenging their views and having the opportunity to learn from others and (hopefully) have them learn from me as well is very valuable. The world is full of so many different ideas and perspectives and it’s important to approach debate in a measured, open-minded way.

But that logical inconsistency really does infuriate me, because while RP values indicate that WOMEN should conform to a very traditional standard (low/no body count) and has a lot of choice words to throw at women who don’t fit that mould, there is nothing really said to discourage men from engaging in casual sex, the sex that debases women in their eyes.

Blatant hyperbole aside…

Show me where you see the same woman/person on PPD making these claims. It’s hypocritical if the same individuals are saying these things. If you see all of these statements around here…they’re made by totally different people.

But side note: I’ve never heard anyone here say that men should just date obese women. And I also can’t think of a single PPD woman who claims to only date flashy, tall, handsome guys. If anything, we tend to get accused of virtue signaling because we say we’ve dated men who don’t meet these standards… 🤷🏼‍♀️

I think in general these are fair criticisms of culture more broadly. Men are criticized more harshly for their standards out in the world, I think.
