SWERFS (sex work exclusionary radical feminists) claim sex work is abusive and wrong. The problem with that statment is sex work and abuse are not intrinsically connected. All jobs have abuse and we create regulations to combat that. The only way ypu can claim sex work is intrinsically abusive is if some aspect of sex work is foundationally different from "real" work.

Most common arguments i hear are that its corrosion, but employment isnt corrosion unless we go so many levels back to the idea any exchanging of money for goods or services is corrosive. Not wanting to have sex with someone for free but agreeing to have sex for a price is just work. I dont want to mow your lawn, but pay me a thousand dollars sure, has my consent been unduly impacted due to fear of reprisal?

They also attack the platforms sex work happens on as they again have a large over lap with actual horrors like child abuse and trafficking. Again you cant use the fact that large platforms are easy to misuse to stop what is otherwise legal and consensual. It would be like saying we should get rid of the internet itself.

The last argument i commonly hear is that sex work causes mental harm to the worker and customer. For the people it is harmful to ya, they shouldnt use sex work. You cant use them to stop adults in a liberal society from engaging and enjoying a legal activity. Sex is legal i hope we can agree on that much. There are also people for whom sex work is not only a good job in their view but enjoyable. Look to actresses like Betty Bondage, Sydney Harwin, Riely Reid and Dani Daniels. Its also fine to be a customer for most people. A segment of the population having a problem doesnt mean we outlaw that thing unless it is so destructive, we should get rid of alcohol by the standards these people use.

So if if you use any of these im just going to respond 1, 2, or 3 as i bet the majority of you will try to use an argument i have already dealt with.
