I know I may come across as that girl who wishes we could “bake a cake filled with rainbows and smiles and all eat it and be happy” but really, when I read these posts, I’m struck by how much compassion I have for both sides. I don’t see why this kind of community doesn’t have the potential to transform into one focused on psychological healing, compassionate understanding and positive encouragement for both genders to be better.

I really do feel bad for both sides, I see both sides points, but the bitterness from both sides is so toxic for all of us. I genuinely think there is a way to change this into an amazing community where we help each other to be better and heal.

I am not a 14 year old, I’m a grown adult and usually I’m not an optimist, but I actually think this could be amazing. We’re all already talking openly about our raw emotions, I think that is in fact a great place to start. Because I think the reality is this, whether or not we like to admit it, we all seek connection. We all want love. And I see in these sorts of communities this desperate longing for it, mingled with this bitterness and pessimism that it’s never going to happen. Can you find love and connection outside of romantic relationships? Yes. Do you neeeeeed sex to survive? Technically No. Do men need women? No. Do women in this society need men? No.

But I see you all as a bunch of disappointed and hurt idealists or - and I don’t mean this in a patronising way - damaged children. We have all been let down by people, but isn’t it always better to try to heal and heal others instead of this constant bickering and insulting which just leads to more hate on both sides? Idk… I would love to talk to you all and hear about your pain and disappointments. If nothing else I just want to say I have a lot of compassion for you. I really do.
