It just occurred to me that if we ever get to the point where we can select a child’s biological sex or even significantly influence the outcome we could as a society apply basic supply-and-demand principles to cut through the gordian knot representing the complex factors and issues which create the great disparity in men’s and women’s experience with dating and sex.

I will respond to objections in the comments some of which I can already anticipate, but this is a solution less controversial than measures such as abortion and my basic premise is that because women see most men as useless and undesirable anyway, and the vast majority of men including Chads can never have the kind of dating prospects, options, and sexual experiences of the average woman, we could simply greatly reduce the number of men through non-violent means until men and women experience a roughly equivalent level of difficulty in dating and sex. I’m proposing reducing the proportion of men to women until it’s about as easy for a man to get a hookup with his looksmatch as it is for a woman. There are plenty of valid objections I can predict related to the labor market and warfare, but if we truly aim to equalize the difficulty in attaining both sex and long term relationships, then the only other objections I can foresee are from women not wanting to relinquish the advantage they have in this aspect of life, which may be a perfectly rational response if you’re a woman, but I’m only interested in engaging with people that at least want to try and make things more fair and less contentious/adversarial between men and women.

Parents who don’t want their sons to suffer could simply keep this goal in mind when determining the ratio of sons to daughters that they have and this way society can alleviate or perhaps even eliminate one form of cruelly unfair inequality dished out by nature
