I think it's a mix of women naturally being submissive, and thinking that assholes are leading them simply because they show confidence.

Somewhere along the line asshole became almost synonymous with confident.

Tbf people tend to regard men who are assertive, to the point, and not concerned with others’ opinions as assholes. Everyone just wants everyone else to be very nice and kind all the time. Some people just aren’t like that. Those are the people girls are drawn to. So when she says assholes, understand that girls call guys who have these qualities assholes.

They don't mean total assholes they just mean dudes that are nonchalant and are straight with them and aren't nice to them just for the sake of being nice. Dudes have to be assertive not pushovers ffs our ancestors fucking took what they wanted from other men, tribes.
