At the very low end, communities are surprisingly matriarchal. Women live in tight communities with friends and female relatives while they work and take care of the home and raise children. Men alternate between temporarily joining one of these communities during mating season and living on their own. Rarely, and only briefly do they work at all.

It's actually very reminiscent of the way most large migrating mammals operate. Elephants, lions, dolphins ect all have similar societies.

if you care about social status, its paramount, i think. if you don't care, then probably not a lot. i care more about class than wealth. I've dated guys not my class and it either made me depressed and feel inadequate or smug and cunty and i could never respect the man.

This is all my opinion, so take it with a grain of salt.

Class and wealth really do make people see and act differently in the world. Each section of society has their own wants/needs/social structure. Poorer cultures do have that matriarchal society, with women usually holding families together. They also have the biggest sense of community. Everyone helps everyone with BASIC needs (food, shelter, childcare), especially extended family and neighbors. They often live in the same area all their life and create large networks of help--or they move around a lot to find work, and create a network in their usual line of work (handyman, caretakers, etc).

Lower middle class & middle class focus on smaller individual needs. There's a sense of men at the head of the household, but the women hold the social norms together. They have a small circle of help and put their immediate family first. They have the hardest time asking for help from other people in anything.

Upper middle class needs to prove they're better than they really are. They put money into the NEWEST luxury items like electronics, the outside of their home, clothing, and have the fewest friends. These people often work hard and long hours and the man really is the head of the household, with the woman assisting him as needed. Children come first and parents are strict.

Upper class has the most defined roles in women, men, children, teens, and young adults. They put money into the TRIED and TRUE items of classic wealth--yachts, jets, designer goods like Gucci etc. Networks of friends, coworkers, and extended are super important. A lot of aspects of social structure are like the poorest class, surprisingly. Marriages are super important. They ask for community help with SOCIAL needs--better jobs, better friends, better schools, etc.

Extremely important to men, and relevant to women. To be more precise, for relationships as a man you earn a lot by being powerful and wealthy (and have status, appearance and masculinity)

To women however it is not so important. Men can only interact with people romantically and sexually if they are physically close by. i.e. to increase your chances of securing a god partner you need to share places with valuable men, And places are usually stratified by such things. A person who live in the slums will probably inhabit places far away from a millionaire. But wealth and class have little effect on themselves as attraction factors to men.... men are visual.... appearance, Youth, being available, sane and be physically close are what I presume is the attraction factors to men.
