Another thread reminding me why I'm purplepill, there's badeconomics, badphilosophy and badhistory in this thread and it's less than half an hour old.

It could be pretty radical. You see, our whole last 300 years of history, Age of Enlightenment, liberalism, leftism, everything, even libertarianism, is basically about becoming pacifist, civilized people who abhor violence. Even on the "right", libertarians who believe in a principle of no aggression are clearly pro-civilization. And on the "left" even more, where even verbal microaggressions are not tolerated.

The issue is, the idea of a raw, high-T masculinity is not 100% compatible with it. It can be made compatible with a lot of work, such work was done in the past. For example in the past they figured instead of manly men randomly fighting each other in chains of mutual vengeance, orderly duels were instituted. But they are no longer allowed, today we are considered too civilized to duel. Left, center, right, it seems we all believe that the proper way to settle differences are lawsuits, violence is at best preserved for self-defense and at worst none at all, just have efficient police etc. etc.

Well, you cannot really be a "Conan" and 100% believe in all this! I am not saying a raw sense of masculinity is fundamentally incompatible with a modern, liberal, pacifist civilization, but I do see that it takes work and effort to reconcile them to each other, because they are not "naturally" compatible.

Now, so far our solution to this problem was simply to consider this kind of brutal, "Conan" masculinity obsolete. We need keyboard warriors now in the modern age, not viking raiders.

The RP proposition sounds like: but what if all this is necessary to make women hot? What if the price of our pacifist, liberal civilization is dead bedrooms? I could live with that fairly easily, but then RP has another proposition: yeah, but women won't, they will turn stones over until they find the last few remaining "Conans", raw, barbarian masculine men to fuck them. So ultimately RP says women will revolt against a pacifist, liberal, "nice guy" civilization - in the bed.

I am not at all sure I believe RP. Probably not. In my experience, the Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) style slightly metrosexual jokesters are far more popular with women than the raw, brutal, "Conan" type, "linebacker" type men.

But still I notice for example how here in Europe more and more common to have "white" women hook up with e.g. Turkish immigrants who are far more masculine. This is becoming noticed. It is pretty surreal. You can go to a gym in Germany or France and just guess people's nationality based on what they do. Complicated abs turning exercises? German, French. Benching 140kg? Immigrant. White? Still immigrant, but more like Serb or Russian. This is how it works, pretty weird because your nationality should not influence these things, we are living in a globalized world and still it is so. Got a boxing gym in Europe, half the people won't even speak the local language really well... it is just "too manly" for many locals. My Danish and Dutch friends play soccer football for fitness, as boxing is jut "too hard"... (OK at least this makes them good at soccer football, which is something I actually respect.)

So while I disagree with RP, it seems oversimplified, it does seem that sometimes the trends do go that way.

So yeah, this could cause pretty much an upheavel because it questions the whole basis of the last 300 years: maybe our sex life does suffer from becoming too civilized.

So ultimately I have not decided if it is true or not, perhaps part true, part fantasy. But it could cause an upheaval.

I guess in the US it can lead to a return of an Clint Eastwood type rugged individualism. That is not even bad. But here in Europe masculinist attitudes are far more dangerous, guys who adopt them often become skinhead and suchlike. I am not talking about RP but just in general, it seems here the guys who really worship manliness are often into all kinds of ugly racist political extremism and that is bad. Go to an MMA competition in Europe and count the extremist tattoos in the audience. There will be quite many.

I guess if this happens, we really need to "channel" this newfound masculinity away from extremism. Lift, fuck, and if you want, fight in the ring, but keep away from hate groups, that needs to be the idea then.

I could see a lot of men going MGTOW, opting out of marriage and most LTRs, with most men seeing hookers or plates instead.

That's not something I ever have to worry about. I've met many men who went through tough times when dating without coming through the other end holding misogynist views.

Not to mention we are moving closer to gender equality every year, meaning there will be even less incentive or need for men to use manipulative tactics.

In my honest opinion, if TRP became mainstream (like feminism is right now), I think it would be equally bad. I really believe the following statements:

Modern feminism attempts to 'level the social playing field' for women, but does this by knocking down men.
The Red Pill seeks to behave optimally within a feminist society, attempting to 'restore order to the social playing field' by empowering men by taking feminist-drawn power away from women.

The problem with both "philosophies" (feminism, TRP) is they attempt to raise one party up by taking power from the other. I believe that ultimately, Not Playing The Game is the answer, but its so ingrained in society that while you're attempting to find a meaningful relationship, you must play the game.

Anyway, to return to your question, society would give a lot of the relationship power back to men. That's not necessarily terrible [not all relationships in our current fem-driven society are terrible], but a lot of the side effects would be pretty demeaning to women (like they are to men now).

edit - to be clear, TRP has helped me immensely, and I am a much better person for having really read and absorbed the sidebar material and some of the posts, and I still read it daily. However, I understand that a lot of the ideas floating around there are created by angry dudes looking to explain away certain things and I read things with the according grain of salt. There is no doubt that TRP IS NOT 100% true. There is also no doubt that the core theory is 100% interesting, relevant, and ultimately to the betterment of anyone who takes the time to read it.

If the red pill becomes mainstream then hopefully more young men will start with lifting / fitness earlier. Focus on life goals and building skills and stop orbiting random females with boyfriends because their so hard up. What a horrible world that would be. It will though we live in the age of information and the way other young men's eyes light up when I'm explaining even the simplest of TRP concepts with regards to females because their so focused on that suggest a thirst for this knowledge. For example time in time again you here young dudes complaining about the asshole effect. One of my favorite things to do in conversation when this comes up is explain "women are not into assholes... its just that women don't date down for the most part EVER because no women wants a dude who's beneath her or she can't respect so when you act like an asshole your effectively placing yourself above her in her mind and that's why it works and they look like they discovered some hidden knowledge or something lol. From there its nothing to introduce them to TRP or therationalmale with continued conversation. Actually just converted a dude the other day in the gym and you should have seen the genuine look of awe on his face while he was reading, pondering, and interrupting me for feed back. Seeing stuff like that suggest that TRP whatever it is needed by young men and someone is working really hard to keep us / masculine energy in line but that's not the way the male species works... it also lets me practice charm and Machiavellianism to very old TRP concepts (art of war, 48 laws of powers, etc...) and steer people towards the trp in a way that plays into their own perception of reality and values system and all I have to do is actively listen. Or pay attention to the power talk (something I learned over on the TRP) what their actually saying when they make a statement and I can custom make a pill specifically for that person and their situation. Easy as pie for them to swallow... because its seems we as a species refuse to accept information that damages the ego. This is an interesting concept because if its true you can exploit just about anyone and I also believe it to be the root cause of "getting in your own way" and the drudgery and miserableness that plagues 95% of humans. I also have to wonder being naturally open minded and then growing, discovering the trp and experimenting with psychs if my ego keeps me away from people and things that would otherwise be beneficial. My guess would be yes. I still deal with ego but I try my damnedest to listen to people I don't agree with who are usually coming from a place of ego. Its all very interesting stuff.

We can all spin what we think it'd be like, but there are too many variables.

One thing I can say is women would find the dating market full of markedly hotter, more manly and more fun men.

That don't sound bad for the females. So long as you understand they'd be running our software "upstairs".

If it was widely disseminated, accepted and actually internalized and applied?

Men would actually change a lot.

they would start to go for physical fitness and looks far more than it's the case right now because they would be aware (a) how important it actually really is (b) that there's nobody who takes them for "how they are".
they would drop the idea that they're a special snowflake who can get by without effort or working; they would probably become more ambitious - subjects with high earning potential would become more popular.
far less orbiting; more active flirting instead. Would take less shit from girls, be more ready to move on. Considerably fewer male/female-"friendships".
I can also see a resentment developing - if you realize that you have to jump through all kinds of hoops to be considered as attractive while women need far less for the same yet behave as if they are the best thing since sliced bread, that's to be expected.

The changes for women? Well, on the one hand most might be less inclined to put out. On the other hand, they would have more and more attractive men propositioning them for sex, but with less men being actually interested in them as persons, which makes this somewhat problematic. I guess as a consequence women would try to develop more "good girlfriend"-qualities.
