"Men do it too" or "women do it too" is just an excuse used by people who can't handle admitting that their gender has shitty people, they want to paint this picture that nobody can do wrong in their gender and by bringing up an example, they say those phrases as a defence.

That's why I never say men or women are shitty, people are shitty.

What exactly is this thread about? Male and females both have their own respective dating issues, some overlap, some don't, and both male and females can be hypocrites at times.

The issue is people with problems that are dominating their life are really really bad at thinking objectivley or considering others, because their mind is fixated on their problem. In a lot of ways it can become a mental illness, or else can be made worse by one and people in these spheres obviously have other issues in that realm to work through very often.

Even if in the grand scheme of things these problems aren't the worst in the world dismissing them isn't going to help. Likewise, pointing out that unrelated groups have equivalent issues won't work because its their problem they want a solution to. Which is why a lot of communities like this also break down into racial lines as well as gender and focus on really narrow slices of the population that more closely resemble each other. I.E. there are subs full of only asian males or only black females and so on and so forth, breaking down along other elements like height or weight just as frequently.

In my experience you can't really move past this self centered tunnel vision without some comfort or positive reinforcement. Thats what these increasingly narrow sliced communities are offering. They validate the in groups insecurities and give them a place where their feelings are valid. They also invariably turn into toxic echo chambers but the fact is that toxic echo chambers will win when the only alternative is zero support otherwise.

I don't really have a solution for this but a bit of understanding and not yelling at each other would probably go a long way.

It just depends, not only about gender. Some men have it easier others do no. For a good looking guy, is’s very easy to get a relationship, but it’s not only about looks. There’s also personality, luck, money and much more. The problems males and females face are indeed different, it’s hard to say what’s worse. It’s worse to have a lot of unwanted attention (even from creeps) or to have no attention at all and always having to do the first step ?

Look at this way, modern western society accepts and agrees upon many many ways in which men are uniquely shitty.

All manner of adjectives and verbs with the prefix “man” or “toxic” in them are laid directly at the feet of men due solely to their gender.

Can anybody name one, single, solitary female trait that society warns people about?

Gold digging is about the only one that I can come up with, and even that is considered a very small subset of deviant women rather than a common trait found in various degrees among most women.

Bottom line: Women’s ever present need to “save face” and appear virtuous and moral will not allow them to accept any individual guilt in areas like this even though men are constantly told to “do better” as a class.

I must be lucky because I have a pretty easy time finding relationships. Most guys are are flakey or inexperienced. The hard part is maintaining that relationship. You really need to know your partners likes, dislikes, personality style, etc. also, a lot of sacrifice and compromise are required. The problem comes when one doesn't compromise or argue well. Then the shit hits the fan.

Most behaviors are not specific to a single demographic. Men and women are both the same species, and this species has many behaviors that are "human".

Accusing someone else of doing something that you also do is called hypocrisy. If everyone does something negative, and you assign full blame to only one person/demographic, it's called scapegoating. If you claim one gender is arbitrarily "worse" for doing something that both genders do, it's sexism.

While it's true that sometimes, people will get caught up on these points to the extent that they only address them, and neglect to go on and address the topic once corrected, it's pretty much impossible to have a structured debate with someone who is not able to view a situation objectively.

Because if you want to make the ‘but child support’ argument, no. Plenty of men don’t pay it and plenty of women pay for everything themselves.

Men want to find a life partner? The bar is so low women are happy to marry men who don’t even wash their own ass. Just read the relationship subs. It’s a nightmare out there.

For years women have been levelling up. We are getting an education, higher paying jobs, we don’t take those opportunities for granted, so we’re doing better with the chances we get. We’re buying apartments/condos, cars, travelling, saving for our futures. We’re constantly bombarded with images of how women should look not only in media and ads now, but on social media, so women are squatting and lifting and eating clean and because of this, we’re getting side-eye at dudes who do nothing. They want to spend their spare time gaming instead of building something or learning a language or skill, they don’t want to pay for a date because ‘the wymmen stole our jobs because we were slacking at work’.

The only area men really have it worse might be dating and that is purely because so many of them want to get laid but don’t want to invest in a relationship, or their own self-improvement. If women want casual sex, so you think they’ll pick the guy who looks like he bathes, shaves and works out, or the guy who looks like he eats take away every day and his ass hair is full of dried shit? She’s going to pick the guy who is clean and takes care of himself, regardless of anything else.

If women want a relationship that might lead to marriage and kids, are they going to pick a guy who doesn’t have a job and won’t spring for a coffee date, a dude who has casual work at a fast food place and shares an apartment with two others who do the same and spend their weekends drinking and smoking weed, or a man who has invested in himself and his future, who works out a few times a week or plays sport regularly, has a job and a career trajectory, and isn’t a jackass.

Women don’t necessarily want a six foot tall guy with a six pack and six inch dick to go with his six figure income. They want a man who has used the resources he has at his disposal to plan for a life for himself and his partner. The exact same as what she’s doing. He has a plan for his career, he takes care of his health and he appreciates her reciprocal effort.

Dating is only hard when you expect women to fall at your feet because you have a dick and you expect to use it on women. Dating is easy if you a) are clear about your goals and b) make yourself attractive to the women who are looking for the same thing. If you lie about wanting a relationship to get sex, you will struggle to date. There are women out there who want that. Be honest. If you want a partner, be a partner. There’s nothing less attractive to a woman if any age than a man who professes to want a partnership but really wants a fan club and a mommy bang maid. Modern women work. We’re tired and we don’t like dating man babies.

If you’re an actual man, and you invest in yourself and make the best of the resources you have, chances are you’ll get what you want be it sex or a relationship. Some guys won’t, but some women don’t either. I have several beautiful, talented and successful women friends for whom marriage and kids never happened, despite them wanting it. They’re slim and fit and earn good money and just had high enough standards they never got met by the men they dated. Most women just deal with that by being aunties or godmothers and travel and have wonderful independent lives. Most men deal with that by blaming women and getting angry, belligerent and hateful.
