Inspired by /u/Lyraless 's post on the political compass thread, and by way of a thank you for doing that work for us, I thought I'd do a quick analysis of the PPD partner count thread we also had.

It was /u/thereddespair 's thread but it didn't seem like he/she was going to do any summing up so I did.

For the record... the "raw stats" are here

Blue Flair

Mean = 2.1

Median = 2

Sample Size = 7

Red Flair

Mean = 17.8

Median = 11

Sample Size = 15

Purple Flair

Mean = 12.5 (7.8 adjusted)

Median = 5

Sample Size = 11

Black Flair

Mean = 12.8

Median = 10.5

Sample Size = 6

No Flair

Mean = 9.5 (6.4 adjusted)

Median = 5

Sample Size = 14

Just to be clear on the adjusted figures for No flairs and Purples... In both samples there was a massive outlier for that flair. In the purples someone had a count of 60, despite no other purples breaching 20. In the No-Flair there was someone with a count of 50, despite no other flairless users breaching 20.

So the adjusted figures are stripping these outliers out, to get a more typical view.

I also did not tabulate a result of 350, 170 and 100 from three posters as I was unsure if they were being entirely serious and to include these in such a small sample would destroy the utility of the figures we did get.

You can beat me for that later.

I'd also say that I did notice that all 4 "No Flair" high partner counts appeared to be RP posters without flair. But didn't want to group them in our flair arbitrarily. The mean for this group drops to 3.3 and median to 4 without them.

Finally, as you might expect, our declared Poly members pushed up the black flair score very considerably too. without them the black flair average drops to 5.5 and the median to 3.5.
