For a long time, I've seen that the reason TBP hates a lot of the TRP-approved tactics (negging, dread game, etc.) is because of the belief that you are "manipulating" this person, altering their behaviour from its "true" nature. She's no longer "just being herself", she's being what you've conditioned her into being. Now, something that recently just hit me is how this conflicts with the idea that people start off their life as blank slates and that their entire personality (including their sexual preferences) is purely the product of their milieu. Now, if that's true, then how is anyone being themself?

Is it possible that maybe this whole thing is just a self-fulfilling prophecy and that the feminists are in fact "faking it 'til they make it" by changing the milieu, reconditioning those within it and then telling them that this is who they "really" are?

My head hurts a bit thinking about this as I feel I've missed something very basic here and I can't really post this question anywhere else so if it's not too much of a bother, could I get some clarification?
