For the reds, because I already suspect what the blues will say. A while ago someone posted a question asking about controlling women. I don't remember much substance to the thread, but OP was asking what reds thought about women that refuse to let life go by, didn't blindly trust others to do work right, and wanted to be in control of her own life. Though the thread seemed rambling and without a real point, I agreed with what they were describing. That is, taking control of your life, not letting things "just happen", and being very careful with who you give your trust to. I was surprised to find a lot of reds think that she was describing a control freak (a few suggested that she needed a man to take control and give her a good dicking). Particularly surprised because this seemed like advice that TRP gives men. And one of the few pieces of good advice IMO.

Everyone should be responsible to make their goals happen, and that involves exerting control in some areas. If you have a lot of goals, you need a lot of effort, and that often calls for control. If you are entrusting others with your resources, you should make sure that your trust is well placed. Monitor them carefully and have them earn your trust. If you really want to be sure that something happens how you want, you should be involved to ensure it does. Of course, there is a balance. There's no sense in trying to control other's affairs, or things that you cannot possibly control. Those are, to me, the hallmarks of a control freak. When they fuss over minor details that don't matter, things they cannot possibly control, or other people's business. But over their own resources or things that involve them? That just makes sense.

So, what is a good level of control to try to have? What makes a control freak? Does this differ between the two sexes? Take note, if you prefer to date less controlling women, that's your preference. But do you think there is something wrong with controlling women in general? As in, they are unethical and or harmful to themselves or others?

EDIT: When in a relationship, where does the line lie? If you think it's important to take control of your own life, even as a woman, how do you reconcile this with male lead relationships? What if a woman doesn't like a guy's decision making? What if he wants anal sex, and she doesn't? He wants to go camping, and she doesn't? He wants to move to a certain location, and she thinks it is an awful idea? Note that I'm not taking about women willingly accepting a decision that she is unsure of because she trusts him. I'm not about when she doesn't like a decision he is making for the both of them.

Some scenarios to consider:

  • He wants anal sex, and she absolutely hates the idea

  • He wants an open relationship, and she absolutely hates the idea

  • Her friends want to go to a party and she doesn't feel comfortable there

  • Someone is trying to guilt her into lending them money, and she doesn't trust them to return it

  • He wants to move to a neighborhood that she feels is a really bad decision
