75 years ago, women were exempt from conscription while men and only men were conscripted to die in WW2. Today, game developers shoehorn female soldiers in WW2 games, unabashedly erasing men's coerced sacrifice from popular culture, all for money.

If you want to be technically correct, the Germans had a few black soldiers fighting for/with them. I believe most were french/ from french colonies and forced into service iirc. Additionally alliances were formed in some areas, give this a read http://allthatsinteresting.com/free-arabian-legion

Additionally since everyone got triggered by the cover of battlefield one, he was supposed to be that guy from the Harlem hellfighters, the only American soldier of any race to receive the war cross from the French. Usually black achievements and valor went unnoticed, despite the fact over 100 men from the 369th were presented with American and/or French decorations. Among those honors Johnson was the first American to receive the Croix de Guerre.

Also who said any of the battlefield games claimed to be historically accurate? Pretty sure they just say 'inspired by historical events'.

This being said, I'm not advocating for women to be shoehorned into roles they didn't have in the wars. It's just some people in this thread really need a history lesson.

Of course the sacrifice of men was far greater in both wars, and should be portrayed this way, but there's nothing wrong with women in a ww2 game. If the game is attempting to be historically accurate, they should be kept to roles/locales they actually served in.

If the game isn't attempting to be historically accurate, then it really doesn't matter. We might as well add laser eyes and dinosaurs.

Finally people in this thread thinking children will believe a game over their own history lessons are overreacting. If this is really a concern of yours, make sure your kids pay attention in school.

There were plenty of women who served during WWII. Maybe not in Infantry roles, but there were battlefield nurses and other support roles. Plenty of women made sacrifices as well.

Studio making the game owes you nothing, they can put in their game whatever they want, whether it's character customisation (which is what you're mad about, and I'm pretty sure that after Battlefield I it was a very requested feature) or naked women.
