Thanks to an act signed under the Obama administration you are right, it is illegal..yet, how does the government enforce this? There's no way. Department of labor still records that women are paid less for the same job (this isn't news). It has decreed in recent years but it is still a reality.

Men do make most of the prison population. Men also commit more crimes. Most mass shooters? Men. Most convicted rapists? Men. Most terrorist around the world? Muslim...MEN. I oils go on and on how testosterone is linked with aggressiveness and risk, which is why men are more...well masculine and aggressive but most people who are charged and convicted under the law are men. This is not favoritism this is just one gender committing more crime than the other. While many surveys have shown that women are more likely "scared" to do some of the risky and aggressive things men do (such as shooting a cop and being on the lose like the guys we've seen on the news lately) In ALL cultures and throughout all of history men have been more prone to be violent or to commit crimes. Now I don't condone women getting favoritism whatsoever but this is a reality, men are more prone to commit more crimes.

Interestingly enough, throughout history men have had higher rates of graduation and college attendance, this has been changing. More women are enrolled in college than men in 2017, men also have a higher drop out rate.

This being said, real feminism doesn't think men should pay for a woman's meal just cause she's a woman. Feminism believes that a woman is perfectly capable of opening a door for a man just like a man can open it for a woman. Feminism believes that women shouldn't be doubted in their abilities to practice law, engineering, being a car sales woman. Feminism believes that women shouldn't be talked down to based on their gender.

To this day I still know men who wouldn't hire women in many professions (not involving physical strength) just based on the fact that they believe women are naturally less intelligent.

The world has changed a lot since our grandparents time, but many people who still have very backward mentality are still alive and are still in power.

I do expect this to be downvoted cause people are little pussies that can't stand different opinions but this is my two cents on it.

I was talking about the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act of 2009 which does the same hung as the Equal Pay Act of 1963. The same thing has to have been passed several times because women are STILL getting paid less than men.

By law companies have to have diversity, hire at least % of women, men, whites, blacks, etc..

Also going back to my point, many people still see women as less able. There are also many professions that don't attract many female workers. There are many profession that due to the nature of the work, they prefer male workers (such as firefighter and law enforcement in certain areas)

There have also being statistics that show employers prefer to hire male workers because men are still still as the sole provider of their household (even if they're not) it's still the mentality that men are providers so I rather give a man who is going to take care of his family than a woman who is going to take care of her family (even though single mothers get the short end of the stick)

Again this is easily accessible in many non partisan research websites bls.gov will give you can look up a wide range of stats on the labor force. Unemployment, pay based on gender, race, state etc.. it's free.

So how do you explain the massive sentencing disparity between men and those women who are convicted of the same crimes? Why are so many female child rapists and even baby murderers getting off with a mere slap on the wrist? Why, despite the existence of these heinous criminals, are your fellow feminists demanding that womens' prisons be shut down altogether, which would mean they'd never, ever be able to get the same punishment as men?

Look at this: it is illegal for companies to ignore workplace diversity, so companies don't do it.

It is illegal for companies to pay people less for the same job based off of age, religion, sex, or race... and... they still do it?

If you have a right to be paid the same and you aren't being paid the same, fight for equal pay in court, or talk to your boss. Don't sit on your phone and cry that you are not paid equally. One guy in my class defended women in the military by saying that he once saw a female soldier changing a tire by lifting the jeep using her thighs or something. The better players aren't going to want that reserve because he wants to play. They want to win.
