Something the vast majority of people don't realize is that for women, becoming more attractive is FAR easier than it is for men.

I discovered this in my late 20s when I started working on myself. I started paying for my haircuts. Lost 25 pounds of fat and gained a little bit of muscle. I bought an all new designer wardrobe. Thankfully I already had a college degree and speak 2 foreign languages fluently. I beat out several dozen if not a hundred other people at my workplace and climbed the corporate ladder, going from $35k a year to $54k and changing departments to something with a promising future. That might not sound like a big deal but it was an enormous accomplishment.

I learned that for women to go from a 4 to a 9 they have to spend a weekend learning how to better use make up. That's it. And to not be obese. Being overweight is perfectly fine. Men don't give a shit. Just stop before full blown obesity. Guys on the other hand need to build muscle through a caloric surplus, then cut fat through a caloric deficit, and keep lifting weights during that cut, for years, with unwavering consistency. Even then, once you're attractive you still have to do all the leg work while attractive women can just sit back and take applications.

Most people can become attractive. You have more control over it than you think. But the disparity in the effort required is like the disparity between a bicycle and a motorcycle.

I love seeing women who are morbidly obese describe themselves as curvy on dating profiles.

I don't care if you're 5'6" and 180 pounds. I care that you're 5'6" and 320 pounds.

Being morbidly obese shows a lot more about a person's character than they think.

Oof. To an extent but not really. You can't stick any gender in a bubble and say "it's that easy". It's easier for woman to find matches in general, I get that. But not as easy as you make it. I get that from your perspective it would seem that way. Do you really match with every girl who isn't obese? I doubt it. There are plenty of less attractive women out there willing to test the waters that get turned down. Do you think those attractive woman who get people handed to them are super happy in their lives as well? Sure, they might find another "attractive" person to fuck; who says they're a good fuck? Who says they have a good personality? Who says they have compatible interests? Who says they wont get fucking abused by some fucking football chad after having 3 kids and stay so they don't get fucked up too?

I'm drunk and ranting but for real just focus on living your life, a partner isn't the be all and end all. Once you find the right one it'll be natural. No pea-cocking around swinging your dick trying to one up the other men. The right girl is out there somewhere. I know the sub we are on, and I agree with a lot of the posts, but the way you wrote that post makes it seem like women are one dimensional as hell. We all have our insecurities and flaws, male or female or other. It's a disservice to imply most men can't sniff them red flags out beyond some foundation or eye shadow.

I don't think so.

For a guy becoming attractive is basically how much effort you put into building a good body figure, what you dress like, and how you style your hair + facial hair if you can grow it. 3 basic things, and then just having good hygiene in general.

I feel like for women, despite not having to put as much effort into maintaining their physique, there are more things that are just harder to do. Good makeup helps accentuate features that are already there, but if you aren't born with it, sucks to be you. Putting more makeup to cover your whole face is just a temporary solution and pretty much wearing a lie (nobody appreciates cakeface). Instead women usually compensate for whatever they believe to be lacking with personality, but once again, if you aren't already naturally comfortable with being open and flirty then it's so much effort into faking it.

So while us guys can fix a lot of things with some effort, girls require a lot more effort if they just aren't born with attractive qualities.

Nah. Make up can do way more than you give it credit for. It can completely change a face. And if you aren't born with high cheekbones or good eyebrows or whatever the fuck then you can just choose a different style that will take what you were born with and make it attractive.

Plus things that are either 100% out of your control like height, or things that are deceptively out of your control like your income. Plus you have to be engaging and fun to be around. Stuff that women in general don't do and nobody gives them crap about it. How many times have you heard a guy say he's not going to call a woman back because "she's boring"?
