• We are both 31.
  • Married: 2 years together for 8.
  • Problem is husband acts lazy and immature sometimes. Gets angry very easily.
  • (How have you contributed to the problem): I may also have acted that way in the past? We didn’t have many responsibilities until recently. I also have a habit of not wanting to be too hard on him.
  • (How long has this been going on for): It’s always been an issue his parents divorced and he and his sister both act similar.
  • (What have you tried to do): I’ve tried telling him what the problems are/what areas he can be a better person in and he always gets very angry and somehow it becomes my fault.

I’m a SAHM. I love it. Daughter is 15 months old. I had a rude awakening with how much maturing one needs to do in order to take care of another person. I am the only one who cares for her (diapers, feedings, naps, bath, etc).

I do all the regular homemaking things. The only thing my husband may do that is related to home making is - My husband loves to cook so sometimes he will cook and on occasion clean the kitchen after cooking.

I have zero help from grandparents.

My husband works full time. I’ve been disappointed with how lazy I find him to be. He sleeps in everyday. Often late to work. On weekends he will sleep in until 9-11AM (meanwhile I’m up multiple times during the night with the baby and I always wake up around 6AM). He plays video games late into the night. He leaves things on the ground and counters that the baby could choke on.

I got really angry this morning because he has a long habit of leaving razor blades (yes just plain razor blades) randomly everywhere. A couple years ago I cut myself when I found one in his pocket while doing laundry. This morning I was digging in the couch for the remote (that he lost) and a razor blade poked the tip of my pointer finger that was IN the couch! Bled everywhere. I’m just so upset he doesn’t seem to want to get better. When I speak to him he gets super angry and somehow makes the issue my fault.

I’m trying to allow him to be the leader and man of the house, but I’m afraid he really has some growing up to do.

So what would you do?

EDIT/UPDATE: I was pretty angry and expressed my frustrations with him. When he woke up he did throw away all those razor blades so maybe he’s taking it seriously now. He apologized. I think I’m going to have to just day by day issue by issue take it slow with him and help him (in a non dramatic way) better himself. I understand it can’t happen in one day.
