Winter attire thread

Let me preface this by saying I LOVE WINTER. It is my favorite, I love snow and I love cold. I would absolutely trade summer for another winter, even though I love beachin' on the river. Anyway...

Most of my summer wear transitions to winter wear by the addition of leggings, heavier socks, and boots instead of flats. The majority of my wardrobe anymore is in shades of black and grey - it used to be pretty colorful, but I realized that I valued simplicity over variety. It saves me a lot of time.

I have a very simple wardrobe - dresses (black, grey, navy, wine - all dark), skirts, tops, and a pair of skinny jeans. I have some fleece-lined leggings that are just the BEST when it's cold out - I have a bigger pair of boot-cut jeans that I wear them under to go out when it's stupid cold out or when I'm helping to shovel snow.

Now, for the most important part - DAS BOOTS. This is my favorite pair of boots. They are waterproof, warm, comfortable, sturdy, and durable. If you live in a place that experiences more than a couple of inches of snow a year, I highly recommend a good pair of waterproof cowboy boots. Aside from these, I have two pairs of ~$30 riding boots (one in black, one in brown) and a pair of ~$30 combat boots. They're not super high quality, they're comfortable though and serve their purpose. Other than those, I also have a pair of Bearpaw boots - they look just like Uggs, for a fraction of the price. With these, make sure you get a good waterproofing spray prior to wearing them outside - I bought the Uggs brand stuff for mine. They are the most comfortable boots in the world; I frequently wear mine indoors too because our floors get extremely cold in the winter.

My favorite outfit from last year (it's too big for me now, so yah but meh too) was a burgundy suede skater skirt with a light gray cashmere sweater and black stockings with heeled booties.

I recently found several long sleeve floral skater-type dresses at Forever 21. They were on sale and in darker jewel tones, so I snatched them up! I've been wearing them with black leggings and booties/western boots and really enjoying them. If it's cold enough for a coat (Deep South here) I add my black leather motorcycle jacket.

Also I have a few sweater dresses that are super cozy. Last week I found one that is a soft rose pink and paired it with some black leggings that had little pink and white roses on them. It was pretty cute if I may say so myself!

All of the boots, please! For snowy/icy weather, I have a pair of Sorel boots. For other times, I have a pair of riding boots or combat boots. Boot socks look super cute and keep my toes nice and toasty!

Clothing- I have a couple of sweater dresses that I like to wear with tights, if it's not too cold or windy. I also have a plaid wool skirt that I love more than life. Other than that, I wear the typical sweaters and jeans. My most complimented winter item is probably my wool coat. It looks similar to this. I love that it has a feminine shape while still being warm and not bulky.

It sounds boring as hell, but most of my tops (sweaters/outerwear, long sleeve tops) are gray! Gray everything + dark jeggings! Gray is the coziest color, debate me.

This year I added a camel turtleneck sweater though, for a change :b

chunky sweaters, colorful leggings

lol, not in canada during a polar vortex. there have been days when i've had to wear leggings under sweatpants, yes i'm cringing at myself but it was -20 with windchill. also, no one sees my cute sweaters when they're covered by parkas. any recommendations for super warm winter coats that are less bulky? canada goose is really popular in my city, but i find their jackets too plain for my tastes. a co-worker recommended eddie bauer.

winter fashion is my least favorite :( i miss wearing bomber jackets. i did buy some cute gloves but they aren't warm enough. also, i've always hated uggs. it seems like every single girl at my high school owned a pair of these and i still think they're hideous. the knit ones are a bit cuter to me but don't look waterproof?

I love wearing cozy sweaters and skinny jeans tucked into my snow boots. It gets really cold were I am, so wearing dresses and skirts can be a bit of a struggle, but Smartwool makes awesome wool tights that are so warm!

I love winter! I have two pairs of nice black leather boots (one ankle and one calf length, both pikolinos), and then I have a pair of intense outdoorsy snow/hiking boots (vasque). I pair those with dresses and tights and skirts/tops. I have a brown suede skirt that's kind of '60s looking and a black leather pencil skirt that I love. I also have a few form fitting but not revealing dresses. I don't look good in that 50s hourglass style so I go for a more fitted pencil skirt or mini skirt 60's vibe. I have super warm tights and leggings (and wool socks!) for under dresses (I like terramar for regular cold days and avalanche for freezing days).

I really only have two sweaters, a uk brora cashmere cardigan and a thick scottish wool pullover. My coat is so warm that I rarely even wear my sweaters unless it's freezing. I have several silk base layer tops (terramar) that are amazing under anything. For warm and waterproof coats I like outdoor research and columbia, I also have a couple of dress coats for nice occasions, but I don't mind running around in a parka in the wintertime.

I got two tops (red and black) and two sets of the black leggings, they go great with boots and a wool dress to make me cosy :)

I have a cute bobble hat and a wool coat and scarf for when it gets really icy, and flat boots so I can use the ice-spike things.
