So I have a fellow PhD student who I am in love with. We have been friends for a couple of years and I instantly liked him. This great and grew. I have never felt like this about anyone, he knows how I feel I told him about 6 months into our friendship and he doesn't feel the same. The problem is I cant cut him off as he is in my working group, but I can't stop thinking about him I can't get over him.

It's hard for us not to be friends because we get on so well and he doesn't want to not be friends with me. The problem with this is I get a million mixed signals from this (despite him saying 1.5 years ago he doesn't feel the same). I have told him straight up at points we can't be friends but it just hasn't worked as he acts really hurt etc

All things considered, I just can't live like this anymore. I am almost 25 years old. I want to get married and have kids, I only have had one bf (for about one month) and am otherwise a virgin. But I can't get over him as I can't get away from him, even if I try avoid him and decide not to be friends, I can't get over him as I work with him.

Please help me with advice as it's breaking my heart and I it has made me unavailable to any other males. The annoying thing is I have focused a lot of self improvement over the last year for the first time in about 10 years have clear skin, I am very feminine, I dress well, I lift at the gym but it feels like it's all going to waste as I'm emotionally unavailable.

Normally you could just 'get over' it if you could cut contact etc, but I can't. I have to deal with horrible pain as I continue my PhD and ridiculous jealousy, missing him etc it just seems ridiculous I just want it to stop.
