I believe this is following the posting rules, since my story sort of confirms the sexual strategy that this community promotes (any feedback is welcome!) I'll apologize for the length.

As a college student, I've been in my fair share of relationships. I was never one to "sleep around" without forming some sort of emotional connection to a guy. Let's just say most of these consisted of me going on several dates and then me deciding this guy isn't going to make me happy in the long run - although I couldn't figure out why. Most of these guys seemed nice enough and smart enough... but they all lacked, something.

I don't know if it's because I'm such an independent woman on my own that I need an overly alpha (or manly) guy to make me happy. It was as if these relationships started and then I kept waiting for the guy to take control of the relationship and he never did. Like he was waiting for me to do everything.

Anyways, fast forward to today, I am in a 100% satisfying and rewarding relationship. My BF is the typical TRP type. He loves hot women, but would never waste his time "committing" to one that acted like she was entitled to things, or in his words: "is a broad". I digress, but when I first met him, I was instantly attracted to him. Great-looking, intelligent, friendly, genuine but has a "bad boy" feel to him. I had never met a guy quite like him, so I wasn't just going to sit around unnoticed.

So we began talking, we had a mutual friend. I wasn't looking my greatest that night (was just out for a drink right after work to celebrate my friends birthday). We kind of hit it off, but he just seemed like he wanted his night of drinking to continue when everyone was ready to go home, so I offered to join him for a few more drinks.

We went to a cigar bar. I didn't smoke. It mostly consisted of him telling me about himself while he drank scotch and smoked his cigar. He offered to buy me a drink, but I wasn't feeling it so I declined and accepted a water. He tells me how all his relationships usually end after one month. I ask him why, and he explains that he usually gets bored. (Obviously this comment worried me, but I had a feeling this guy was used to dating, well, girls that were different from me). We walk back to his condo, he lends me an offer to stay the night, I politely decline. Right after I decline, he invites me to go to the comedy club on Friday night (two days from then). I say "I'll think about it" because I would at least like to sleep on the decision before I made one.

We go on a few more dates, I meet his sister. He learns a lot about me. Comments on my intelligence a lot, also grabs my ass a lot. I'm beginning to worry, am I just another "pretty girl" to add to his collection? I continue to see him, but begin to slowly make things clear that I'm not hanging around him just "for a good time" because I in fact, really like him. At the same time, I was going on dates with another guy (keep in mind, these really are just dates, no sexual stuff) because I'm not going to be exclusive if this guy isn't. I think this is what made my current BF realize that I'm not going to "throw myself at him" without some form of commitment. Shortly afterwards, we became exclusive, and I'm in my most rewarding relationship ever.

TL;DR: found a TRP guy, kept it real, now I'm in a very happy relationship.

EDIT: Hey guys, the main purpose of my post was to get some interesting discussion going. I'm not the best story teller, and probably left a lot of things out that I tried to answer with some of my comments. I'm new to this subreddit, but reflecting back on the beginning of my relationship and why it has been so successful I think supports some of the main ideas here. I encourage people to post their own observations or stories on this subreddit to give us more discussion points.
