Ive been debating whether or not to post this, because im sure I’m going to get a swift kick in the ass.

So a few days ago, I went with my boyfriend to renew his business license. He asked me to help him out so wanting to be helpful, I did. Prior to that, I sent him the link of the requirements but when we got there, he didnt print any of his files. Somehow he thought you could submit them online. He told me he consulted with a friend accountant of his, and that he didnt need to print his documents.

So we go on to print the documents and the whole time I’m thinking “why are you not ready??”. He can tell I’m pissed at him, because not only is it inconsiderate and irresponsible, its also wasting my time. I think when you set an appointment with someone to run papers, at the very least you should be ready. Especially in my country, which is a third world country, documents are always physical. Somehow i dont know why he wouldnt use his common sense over what someone told him but thats besides the point.

Now I’ll admit I was quickly irritated and I showed it, and I need to work on that. The thing that threw me over the edge was that after I asked around for a print shop, which there wasnt one, he then procedeed to look around the near vicinity as if he didnt believe there wasnt one. Then, when he saw there was in fact none, he said “i dont feel like doing the requirements anymore. Lets just have a date, we can come back another time”

I told him “ we are not having a date. We are looking for a print shop. Period.” I was just thinking, I did not drive us all the way here for us to come back another time, i did not tell you about the requirements twice to come back another time. I am not wasting another day with you just to find out that youre unprepared again. I have anxiety driving this far,if youre going to ask me to help you, the least you could do is appologize for not being ready after I warned you.( note:i dont voice this to him i just think it)

We then argue abit more and I tell him it was inconsiderate of him to just expect me to drive him all the way again and that he was wasting my time. He then proceeds to call me inconsiderate for not understanding the situation. At that point, I lose it and tell him I need to be left alone. Somehow, We end up getting all the papers and the requirements. We find a place to print and we keep walking back and forth to print.We are working as a team for the rest of the day.Understandably, we dont make it.As we’re walking to the carpark, he starts blaming his brother for not being able to finish the license because we needed to do something for his brother earlier in the day. This to me shows lack of responsibility and owning up to your mistakes. The fact that you feel the need to blame something else is just wrong to me. I tell him, “ you know its okay if it took two days because it really took two days. Its okay if there are setbacks or unforseen things that you need to do, but the thing is you really were unprepared, thats why Im mad at you.”

The next time we talk, he tells me that I was being pissy and that I should have understood but he was thankful I was there to help him out. I am still angry at him because I felt like I wasnt being listened to and that he just didnt value my time or energy and just assumed I would be okay driving him all the way there again. I feel like I deserve an apology.

He tells me “ if thats what you need to hear to get over it,then I’m sorry”. This to me, is a lack of sincerity and at this point, I dont know what to say.

Ive asked my closest friends and theyve all told me how I reacted was normal and reasonable, especially when theres still a pandemic going around in my country. I just feel that they might be taking my side because theyre biased towards me. Im seriously having doubts about this relationship because, this is something small and shows alot about a person. I feel that he usually doesnt own up to mistakes and has a hard time apologizing for them. Everytime we argue, I feel like I have to pull teeth in order for him to even acknowledge the wrong thing hes doing. Please just point out everything wrong I did or whatever you have to say about this because I honestly dont know anymore.
