"I don't see women here trying to figure out the best ways to manipulate men and their peers into getting whatever it is that they want. I see women striving for the old school dynamic of monogamy and kind of the 50's housewife style of life." That's because that old-school relationship is what we want. You just think it's more wholesome because we live in a world where simple pleasures are viewed as inherently innocent and infantile and cute, whereas the desire for wealth, power and sex is viewed as inherently corrupt and depraved and immoral. In reality, women's biological imperatives are:

-sustenance

-safety

-reproduction

-sustenance and safety for the children

The last one is not one of men's biological imperatives. Yes, it's a part of the inbuilt mating strategy, but it's not crucial to their reproduction, so it isn't an imperative. When K-selected women seek a man who meets our biological imperatives (attractive, good father figure, good provider) we're viewed as "cute" or "nice" or "a little simple". When r-selected women seek a man who meets their biological imperatives (attractive, strong, socially powerful) they're viewed as "empowered", "strong" and "independent". When K-selected men seek a woman who meets their biological imperatives (pretty, chaste, motherly) they're viewed as "a little backwards", "nice" and "mature". But when r-selected men seek a woman who meets their biological imperatives (pretty, sexually available, independent) all hell breaks loose. Why? Because that's "misogynistic", "manipulative" and "adolescent".

From what I see, [OPs] understanding of TRP is poor. TRP is simply the idea that men and women are biologically different, that we are animals seeking to pass on our DNA and that both genders fall into several "behavioural sets" based on their mating strategy. Those men you think are "tricking" women are in fact using a filtering mechanism to find women whose mating strategy is more r-selected, making her more likely to desire casual sex. They also focus on developing the physical and personality traits that encourages r-selected women to have sex. This isn't "tricking", it's just biology.

And, if you view that as "tricking", then consider that we're also "tricking" men. A lot of K-selected men aren't what we most desire. However, some r-selected men are willing to adopt a K-selected strategy for the sake of a woman who makes life with her too comfortable to not stay and too inconvenient to leave. And some K-selected men can develop r-selected personality traits around women who show themselves as needing a leader, as being weaker than we actually are. If finding r-selected women and making yourself look good to them is "tricking", then so is finding r-selected men and making ourselves irresistible or finding K-selected men and encouraging them to act like they're r-selected.

It's all about getting what you, as both an animal and as an individual, want. If that sounds too simple, cold and harsh for you, then maybe you're not ready for it?
