Throwaway.

In an LTR with a very loving and committed boyfriend.

I struggle with my own self worth. If I take a step back I'm very fortunate, I earn an upper middle class income, I'm at a healthy weight (although could stand to lose 5-10lbs), I've got a cute face, nice personality and good with people.

However I can't stop comparing myself, and the things I compare myself are 1) Looks and 2) Personality.

  1. Looks - I'm not bad looking, I definitely work with what I've got but sometimes I wish I had different genetics, like a sharper nose or bigger eyes or bigger boobs and wider hips. Sometimes even wish I were taller, because tall women have sexier and sultrier bodies whereas I'm 5'3, and I'm petite compared to most women and I can't pull off certain outfits that require height. Otherwise I look like a middle school student. I've done some bodybuilding and built up some glutes/thighs but I can't help but keep picking at them. Like having bigger glutes have given me shape but I feel I look stocky because of my height.

  2. I'm quiet, a bit spunky, can hold a conversation quite well, but when I'm anxious it's when I'm around these extroverts that butt into the conversation all the time. I'm someone that usually listens and contributes when I don't have to "fight" to say something, if that makes sense. But I've seen how so many men love women who talk talk talk and and pushy and aggressive in conversation. I'm just not like that but I feel embarrassed I'm so quiet most of the time.

For what it's worth my boyfriend tells me I'm perfect so I realize it's just my own insecurity. I feel like I won't feel good about myself unless I'm a 10 in everything not just a 7-8 although I realize many average women have loving and happy relationships and live fulfilling lives.

I'm insecure, how can I be more comfortable with myself and also be comfortable around other people without feeling like I'm inadequate?
