I'm secretly planning a surprise dinner! We aren't going out this year, because I will be approaching very pregnant. But, I'm planning to make a nice dinner and a chocolate cake for us to share. I think it will be nice to go all out at home and pull out the nice tablecloth and candles for the two of us!

I thought about getting some maternity lingerie, but I'm a little embarrassed. I have a little bit of time to be on the fence still.

A married woman from work approached me, told me her husband would be out of town for work, and invited me over for dinner on Valentines Day. I don't go out of my way to interact with her, it's just as I've started dressing better, getting in better shape, holding better confidence, etc, more women are treating me differently. I would not say better, I would say differently.

I, of course, declined her.

It actually breaks me heart all the time. It's not just with me, I see so many married people who act like they are single. They flirt, they cross boundaries, they treat their spouse in a way they would not like to be treated.

I apologize if my sadness is bleeding over into here. I guess Valentines Day is a reminder that I've chosen a different path, but I chose it, so I must bear the cost of it.

I genuinely wish all of you a happy and prosperous Valentines Day with your SO's out there. Please remember, all the great things you bring into each other life is a ray of hope for all the rest of us out here, that a dare to be great moment is possible. ( I guess quoting Say Anything is where this was headed anyway)

We're still working out a few details on timing and travel, but so far we plan to make his favorite breakfast together, see the Lego Batman movie, eat at my favorite restaurant, do some shopping and house seeing, prepare dinner together, and work on me being more adventurous in the bedroom.

We never celebrated valentine's day, mothers day, fathers day or any other day of this nature. We believe (my wife and I) that every day deserves effort in the marriage and the relationship with your parents.

Our marriage anniversary is a special day within our marriage. Same goes for the day we got engaged and other special days that are special to us specifically as a couple. We celebrate those days, not some fabricated day to love your spouse or honor your parents.

We see too many people who hardly speak to their parents and only call on fathers/mothers day...

But, to each their own. If you celebrate it, enjoy! Make it special!

We're probably going to see Fifty Shades Darker for a good laugh lol. Other than that maybe dinner at a restaurant? Or at home would be nice too. He makes the best steaks and I make pretty good American side dishes.

I'm planning on making his favorite dish (crab cakes) and some ridiculous dessert (thinking of making caramel stuffed chocolate snicker doodles), and we'll probably play some games or watch a movie. I have class that evening, and we're not huge on going out anyway, but I'm looking forward to making some delicious food for us!
