I love how free and comfy I am in dresses too. I also prefer sandals to boots. So while I prefer spring/summer fashion, I believe you can look very feminine and feel cozy in all the seasons.

A lot of women will still wear dresses and skirts with tights and knee high boots to keep legs warm. While it's not as freeing, you can still look very feminine in pants. Look for ones that flatter your figure and wear feminine tops. Accessories go a long way too. A woman who has some pearls, a top with some frills and jeans to flatter her curves looks amazing.

Look for coats that are feminine. Investing in a gorgeous coat makes a big difference. It doesn't have to be the most expensive or pink. There are many coats that have feminine details on them. I have gotten lot of compliments on coats that are blue or red. You might want to google feminine winter fashion and see images like the ones I describe. Most people gravitate towards simple sweaters, jeans, and footwear, so that's what most of us think winter fashion looks like. But you can come up with amazing outfits that will keep you warm with a little effort. I'm not great at walking in them, but if you are, you may want to get some boots with high heels. I've thought about getting them for special occasions even if they're not what I'd wear to the supermarket or work. Super sexy and feminine, and you don't even have to show any skin.

I'm also in Canada. I wear dresses and skirts year round. Winter ones are generally thicker warmer fabrics - lots of wool basically. Wool is great. Long socks, long sleeves or sweaters, long skirts. Long fur coat.

I used to live in Poland, and now I live in Norway. I wear dresses all year around, although not exclusively... during winter, I use a warm wool thermal tights combined with regular tights (I like their finish better), recently I found some thick tights that fake the sheer look of finer ones and I am curious to try. Long coats pair well with dresses.

I like to add colorful items because everyone goes so sober and dark during winter. I like to keep my colorful and sunny personality :) I think a lot of people change during the year to conform on what is more usual but it's good to go a little against it, and it's something I think people notice and appreciate. I'm not a super fashionista but I have my own style and people are super positive about it.

Wool tights are amazing for the winter! Woolen socks are great as well. I am a knitter and love the fit of well made wool socks. I'm not saying you have to learn to knit, but that there are many different kinds of wool/animal fibers and some are not only warm, they are also very soft. Merino wool is soft and not scratchy like woolen socks you may think of.

Skirts made from heavier fabric are wonderful as well.

I have a lovely, calf length peacoat that is cut in an a-line and incredibly flattering.

A classic, feminine look for cold weather could be a full-length dress or skirt with a cardigan or sweater layered over, boots or oxfords, with knee-high, woolen socks or full-length tights.

You could layer a few of your skirts underneath with warm leggings underneath. If your open to it, you could also consider wearing some very feminine looking jeans or trousers. I think paired with a nice blouse or some other feminine items you can still be very feminine and wear pants.

Also in regards to practicability, idk how much yard work or hiking you do, but I wouldn’t want to be headed up the mountain in a skirt. I’m in WA and I take my dog out daily so my hiking boots or athletic shoes are always prepared for me in the car to put on, then on the same trip out I’ll go to the store and slip on my nice shoes to go inside the store or out to dinner.

I feel you can still look girly in some more practical athletic types of clothing. Try going for more feminine colors, like purple or pink. If your going for a more mature look, instead of too much bright color you could go for a little darker color, like a maroon, or a dark blue. I’ll admit you might have to search a bit more but they are there.

Living in WA, even my summers can be a bit chilly, so I always have a cardigan or a light jacket to wear. I actually don’t own a lot of blouses because I always end up leaving the house with a jacket on.

I have nice quality, feminine looking jackets too. They aren’t all super athletic oriented either, but their still practical. They fit nice and show off my waist line. Then underneath my jacket might some times show off a little of my nice blouse with a contrasting brighter color to my jacket.

In winter I like to wear maybe a slightly shorter dress (mid thighs) with warm leggings. Wear a sweater or cardigan over it. I'll layer on some wool socks with clogs or boots.

I also buy matching - but not childish - form fitting pj's/sweats for home. Or I'll wear nice activewear looks... Nice leggings, matching top, little zip up, and some little ugg booties. My LTR is always telling me to wear clothes that are easy to pull off. So... I am lucky in that way.

I also wear lots of jeans and sweaters. Because I am very cold natured. My LTR knows this and he would never be want me to be uncomfortably cold just to look cute.

I also suggest buying a couple of statement coats.... A nice color or print. It instant jazzes up a jeans and black sweater look.

You just have to make sure the clothes aren't too baggy. Show your shape.

When extremes of temperature exist it's difficult to dress in certain aesthetics. Perhaps focus on prints, colors, details and textures rather than on wearing certain items of clothing. For example, a pink coat or a coat with a floral print is more overtly feminine in style than a plain black one.

I live in Canada and have managed up to -10 weather with fleece-lined stockings and dresses/skirts! Invest in a high-quality pair of stockings and some cute winter boots to match and you'll be set.
