Most of the thinking that 'age gaps are bad' comes from women who are older and competing with significantly younger, hotter, cooler girls for top-tier men when they're in baby mode, which is then repeated by the men who end up settling for said women in order to rationalize their own sacrifice.

At the end of the day, when I decide to settle down, I'd rather it be with a 7 who is 20 (fuck it, why not 18?) than a 9 who is my age or even a few years younger. Not only will she keep her looks longer, there is far less pressure and expectations coming from her end, and I don't have to worry about her seeing me as beta bux quite as much. Exceptions, of course.

I'd try to bang both, of course, but if it comes to exclusivity...

I see no problem with 20 year old. Honestly, if I were looking for a LTR, 18 would be even better (but in practice, harder to deal with) because you have a better chance to mold her and make her part of your, "team" - and the power dynamics will always be in your favor, which as part of a marriage, is vitally important.

No it's not! In fact it's ideal! Man do I envy you. I have a great gf but she is only 1 year younger than me, which means if I want her to become a mother of my kids, I have to play by her biological clocks and that sucks! Also the maturity you possess is not in fact a head-start, she is already basically a whole woman but it will take you some couple of years to truly mature and evolve as a man.

Trust me these doubts about the age gap is leftover from female imperative being forced on you.

20 can be managed, unless you let yourself go close to 60 when the woman is still in 40s.

I was being judged against, compared to and paying for every shitty thing a guy ever did to her in her past.

The idea that an "age gap is creepy" is on par with the "gender based wage gap" in that it doesn't describe reality. Women are into men who are older than them. 7 years is not a large gap, at all. Anyone who tells you different hasn't thought it through or doesn't have your best interests in mind.

5-10 years younger is perfect. That way, you're (hopefully) hitting your stride and starting your career with a young and beautiful partner. You also have more time to finish your bucket list and build your career before having kids... whereas a 30 year old who marries another 30 year old is really backed into a corner in that regard.

I don't approve of bigger age gaps though. It doesn't make sense to me to marry someone so young that she's going to outlive you by 20-30 years.

The main complaint about the age gap is that how partners are apparently matured enough (or not) mentally depending on their ages. Indeed that is true to some extent but unless the age gap is really big (something in the spectrum 5+ years) it's not a big issue.

No. If you are actually looking for a LTR, this gap matters less as you age. I am 8 years older than my GF and it's great. Look up my thread "High School Sweethearts Trope is Bad for Men" to see my more extensive thoughts on the matter.

That all said, the older guy should be more conscious of being a potential BB, not less as another poster stated. I mean, it doesn't get more BB than a guy who'd 30+ years older than his GF.
