There was a thread on askTRP about a guy that approached a girl with a boyfriend. He was testing his PUA knowledge but she probably had none of it , so the boyfriend came and told him to get the fuck out. His girlfriend ate all of the "mate guarding". OP asks if he should have got physical with the boyfriend. He also wanted to know why "Mate Guarding" worked.

Probably the best course of action here would have been to introduce yourself , tell the guy that you did not know that she is not single and disengage , keep partying , game other women in the club. Or do the opposite and get your ass beaten.

Mate Guarding would have been if the boyfriend just stood there and watched how his girlfriend is trying to reject a guy but he is not leaving. Then , in the end of the night , confroting her and telling her that the fact that she talks with guys or even looks at them makes him feel hurt. Also mentioning that this is unacceptable behaviour , which he will not tolerate would have been the icing on the cake. Because Betas can set boundaries , right? Wrong.

I was at a club once with a plate and my homies. It's a small city and she was a hottie so people know her. We enter and she sees about 10 guys that she knows. We go to our table and wait for the atmosphere to get hyped. When everybody starts dancing she is all over me but decides to go to her male friends and proceeds to dance with them for a long time. And so I approached some women , they liked me and we started dancing together. A few moments later my plate comes to me and sticks with me untill the end of the night. We fucked like rabbits.

That is not supposed to phase anyone because she was only a plate. Mate Guarding her would have been detrimental to her perception of me. If an LTR did that , she would be disqualfiied from the position. Zero of my last LTRs have attempted such dangerous maneuvers that would potentially kick them out of my life. Yet I have been The Boyfriend in a few situations similar to the one from the OP in askTRP.

Once I was at a party with my woman , my boys and their girlfriends. Imagine a big house party. There was a guy that was into my girlfriend. Me and the boys would be doing BBQ, others would be chatting and he would be chasing the girls and also trying to hit on my woman. She knows how to handle that , no need to mate guard. So a few hours later everyone is dancing and this guy comes to us out of the blue and slaps my girl's ass. She slapped him but I wouldn't care. I threw him down on the lawn and he was screaming under an armlock. I was not hitting him , punching him or anything too extreme. Everyone came to see what happened ("save us") and he was told to leave the party.

My girlfriend loved me for it. The reason why I did it was because of the blatant disrepsect the guy showed as he knew the whole time that I was the boyfriend.

Would you go home feeling like a pussy after someone hit your girlfriend's ass and you did not do anything because you have "abundance"? I am not advocating putting yourself in danger. Think before you act. Maybe I went too far. Maybe I'm a confrontational idiot. Or maybe he should not have attempted to shit in my yard.

TL:DR - Stay away from aggresive boyfriends. Or introduce yourself , tell them that you did not know the girl was taken and get to know them , game the women they will introduce you to. You have everything to gain and nothing to lose if you follow the latter path. Also , I am an aggresive idiot. I have always escalated in the small amount of times I have been put in such disrespectful situations. And I have not seen any drawbacks in the life of my relationships. Only a few bruises.
