My friends and I have a FA friend. We always invite him out. He rarely accepts. One night he does...

He tells us about girl he's interested in. She acts like she likes him, but always keeps him at arm's length. We explain what an orbiter is, why and how she's keeping him in orbit. He denies it. "She's not like that."

Conversation moves on. Some of the other guys are talking sports. After a few minutes, FA guy shifts the topic back to himself and the girl. We give him advice. Let her know your intentions. Make a move. "I've tried. She didn't notice."

Make it obvious. Kiss her. She turns you down, you move on. Either way, you'll know where you really stand. "I won't risk losing the friendship."

We start talking about work. Normal stuff. Again FA guy turns the spotlight back on himself. Again we offer advice. Again he has bullshit reasons to ignore us.

This repeats the whole fucking night. Every 5 or 10 minutes, he steers the conversation back to his sad shit. And it keeps getting more and more pathetic. "Sometimes I think my cat is the only one who will ever love me. And then I think my cat will die someday..."

He rejects even the simplest advice. Be a man, hit the gym, go out more often. He refuses to change. "I only want a woman who will love me for me. I'm not going to be something I'm not."

This dude did not want help. He just wanted attention. More than anything, he wanted pity. The less pity we offered, the more he needed it.

FA dudes are attention whores. Pity addicts.

A large portion of people on /r/foreveralone, r9k, wizardchan etc have overlapping views with RP concepts, they don't use the terminology and might come draw a different conclusion from it, but they know. For example the chad thundercock meme comes from r9k and is basically personifying how successful the typical alpha type is. Even the most beta posters are generally introspective about it.

Nothing in the sidebar would be new to most of them, they just draw a different conclusion, while people here decide to improve themselves exploit the knowledge, FA people when they realize that the kind of relationships they want are an anomaly in reality don't like that and sink into depression because of it, or hold out that they'll find a girl who's different.

Being able to fuck many chicks won't solve their problems, they want validation for who they are, or a perfect relationship, being able to attract women by putting on a persona doesn't grant that, it's almost akin to depersonalisation for them.

On top of that the type of self improvement positivity that you see on this sub will just make everyone ignore you on FA forums, like I said they know most of the stuff here, their reaction to it is just different.

Is there really a /r/ ForeverAlone community? I don't think it's a cohesive group, and many people only post and subscribe ironically.

Honestly after reading some of the posts there they don't seem all that different from many of the people here, in fact, I bet there's some overlap. For example look at the post where they make fun of a Buzzfeed article written by a woman whining about not getting laid for a year (donut picture). That could have been posted here and gotten basically the same response.

The difference is just in attitude. The guys here are angry or optimistic about improvement, while the guys there are sad. Of course, any one guy can experience all of these feelings more or less simultaneously.

Now I'm not saying there aren't BP losers there, but I definitely wouldn't label anyone who visits there BP.

I think this is a good quote from a discussion of the famous OKC attractiveness study:

This account was made specifically to offer help to those in that quicksand of a sub. New to reddit, I didn't realize 15 points where needed to post a comment there. By the time said points where obtained, I had read enough to make it clear: There was nothing I could do to help them.

If someone posts that they have gone 19 years without sex and that person is only Nineteen years old, they obviously have no idea what they are typing about being but a few years into puberty.

I'd say theres nothing here you wouldn't see by looking at the right places or being forced to

I know this one guy whos an epic niceguy but is short fat and looks older than his age which doesn't stop him from confidently talking to girls due to his non coed upbringing. one day hell end up overhearing stuff.

on the other hand there are guys who probably need to hear more about owning their own shit and getting the fuck out(where I am at life presently) of bad situations rather than knowing what girls want because they already do and they only suffer for it.

quick tips for FA guy , ostroman edition: 1. cut shit out until you are literally going crazy with boredom, but beat it back and use this vacuum in your life to suck in something positive and maintain it. this translates to quitting stuff, primarily maladaptive habits like video games,emotional investment,OCD like self evaluation,and potentially even jobs (a 9-5 deadend will pass a decade faster than a coma)

radical self awareness, this is hard as fuck, but also rewarding normal stoicism and zen methods don't seem to cut it at least for me, you need a perspective change thats on 24/7X100ms or else the core reason you are FA which is not your fault down the line, but is part of you now will come up one way or another.

Think nerdy guy in downtown practicing pua hopelessly but actually learning from it things that his pua tutorial didn't tell him

be prepared to take risks that will return you to square one and be prepared to have a lot of time pass before you recognize its over. (I have had a knee injury,lost job, and was invited to a gym related social circle from which I got noped after the injury all at the same 2-3 week span and couldn't even walk for 2-3 months without a limp, I'm still rehabilitating it, the hardest one to rehabilitate my doctor says, but i can walk and squat already) alternatively preventing this situation is better, but you need to be aware first
continuously re-evaluate , a diary or something, whatever has significance to you. don't let your intentions be made out of 'air' have them carry weight and stakes.
don't enter 'monk mode' nor wait for that one magic social interaction that will get you out of it, you will never leave monk mode and you will never catch it any better then you did before (makes sense to do it for your first FA year if you don't know better, but beyond that?)
accept the fact you don't know what your preferences and self will be like when you are further down the road, it will probably be different.

ultimately 1-7 circularly reinforce each other, not really going to work if you are capped in the looks department and want to get as much attention on looks based settings,neither going to work long term if you are going to get less then what you are going to invest, esp if its other people. but you don't really know where youll end up in 2030 with the fire of self awareness burning in you this stuff doesn't just happen by itself , most people are driven by inertia and fatigue.

Dude I found the pill 5 months ago I'm 22 yo and I somedays usually in a row I lose mu mind, like legit madness I star to get depressed over what I learn here and my last ltr but then I smile and I feel happy, improvement is on my head along with all this information and I feel like I'm going mad, but then I calm down I try to remind me that these stuff works, but it will take some time and effort, you will be ok, you have done this before, you will do it again.

Just now after 6months of shame feeling like shit and with urge to improve, I'm starting to get exposure but I feel ready to go back, I have studied, I have worked, I have suffered alone and in silence, I pay myself the debt I own me since the moment that her pussy was all I could think about, I can unghost her and stop being affraid of ghost in my own neighborhood with mine friends who were friends of mine before you and rhey will be again because I'm back, I found myself back, I can go back again in to the wold be cause I have not forgotten how she dumped me and how it hurt me like I haven't been hurt in my life, but I fogive her for being a woman I understand now, and I have worked and worked in this few monhts on myself and I forgive myself for I knew no better I did my best but I know the truht now and ONCE Again like I did before will do my fucking best.

For me part of taking the pill is accepting that a % of men will never be saved. And I'm not just talking about the beta who settles for a chubby girl with purple hair in her 30's. I'm talking about the bitter forever aloner to the ego invested guy who blames his fate on everyone else and everything in between.

As men we want to pull each other up and help others succeed but you need to make sure you're expending that energy on people who are worth it. Face facts and realize that a significant % of men won't change and leave them to their fate.
