Summary: Affirmative action for women is supported by a larger majority of the public

Body: A part of female privilege is associated with hand outs. Whether it is their expectation to find husbands who have higher salaries, the expectation to have their wants/needs paid for by others and the expectation to have free access to contraception paid for by others, just to name a few.

Affirmative action based on race has been a contentious debate in the U.S. However based on a new GallUp survey their are higher support levels for affirmative action based solely on gender.

A majority of Americans say they favor affirmative action programs. However, support is a bit higher for programs aimed at helping women (67%) than for those focused on helping racial minorities (58%).

Support for affirmative action for women is highest among Black and Hispanic women (81% of both support it). Although white men are least likely to support affirmative action, a majority supports its for women (58%) and racial minorities (52%)

Support for both types of affirmative action programs differs markedly by political party identification. More than eight in 10 Democrats support affirmative action for women, and 76% support it for racial minorities. Solid majorities of independents also support both types of programs. Republicans are split: Just over half favor affirmative action for women, but fewer than four in 10 favor it for racial minorities.

Even the Republican party polled a majority (51%) in favor of affirmative action for women.

Lessons learned: It's a blue pill world. Even the most traditional and conservative political groups in the United States support affirmative action for women. This is really a great survey because it shows how women are viewed as incapable and in need of greater support by the government by the general public.
