Likely this is apocryphal revenge porn story stuff, serving the same function as so-called 'urban legends' did back before the internet and fairy tales before Gutenberg starting playing with ink.

The story's touch of cruelty and the relish displayed, as well as the too-perfect set-up and delivery suggest strongly you are reading the contemporary equivalent of a "the moral of this story is..." sort of fairy tale rather than a personal account of a life lived.
