Over the past few months I made the decision to anonymously share life experiences regarding my wife and daughter with this audience. One common theme in the comments goes something like “Glad to see messages about something other than woman bashing”. Haters will hate and there is anger in this sub to be sure, but I think we owe to ourselves to get a clear picture about the underlying concepts for the RP way of thinking. So I’ll open with the parable of the frog and the scorpion:

A scorpion and a frog meet on the bank of a stream and the scorpion asks the frog to carry him across on its back. The frog asks, “How do I know you won’t sting me?” The scorpion says, “Because if I do, I will die too.”

The frog is satisfied, and they set out. But in midstream, the scorpion stings the frog. The frog feels the onset of paralysis and starts to sink, knowing they both will drown, but has just enough time to gasp “Why?”

Replies the scorpion: “It’s my nature…”

Our 21 YO daughter went full-tilt on her new Navy boy. She “asserted her independence” with an indignant arrogance. For my wife, it was an emotional cliff with many inconsolable moments. Her little baby was in a tailspin of bad decisions… and could not remember that we love and care about her welfare.

The BP me would have been the same; angry, sad, bitter, and visibly emotional. I mean, how could she make such poor choices after all we did for her? Can’t she see what pain she is causing her mother and me?

Thankfully we hit this issue after I swallowed the Red Pill. I could be the rock for my daughter and my wife. More than once I told my wife that our daughter is acting on a primal drive. It has NOTHING to do with her love for us; it has everything to do with her desire to procreate and become the adult that SHE thinks she should be. In her eyes, this is the highest status man she can land and she is going to do it hell or high water. Through that pragmatic lens my wife and I held frame together. It was hard as hell and I still felt those BP thoughts, but I didn't express them to EITHER of them.

If I hate on women, then I’m hating on my mother, my wife, my daughter, and I won’t live that life; I won’t be that person. My daughter may be making poor choices in men, but that is a DIRECT reflection of the way I allowed her mother to interact with me until recently. The same is true for my wife’s parents. The root cause of my daughter’s inability to balance the primal with the pragmatic stems from MY lack of leadership in our house. Hating or demonizing her for these actions is akin to getting mad at my engine seizing even though I neglected to change the oil over 18 years.

Would RP leadership have guaranteed me a different outcome? No. Some engines seize with proper maintenance, but the probability is significantly less.

[edit] - I wrote this post to address the importance of parenting so that the next generation balances their primal instincts with ethics and good judgement. Due to red-pill rules, I cant link to the post explaining the details of their relationship, but Ill post it in the comments.
